Offense is decent. But the defense is what im worried about. Wings were among worst in the league in time in own zone 5:5
Make a trade. Not all these prospects will be able to play

I like Larkin. I wish he wouldnāt have waded into waters that he did because even shallow water can drown your ass.
I think heāll get his wish that the Wings make a trade to bring in more talentā¦ā¦well before the deadline.
Ironically heāll be a part of the package going the other way
Also, Iāve been a Steve Yzerman fan since I was a teenager back in the 80ās.
But the Red Wings are not a fun watch and Iām just as disinterested now as I was the last several years of Ken Hollands tenure.
I like Larkin too. Hell, I have a Larkin jersey. But heās really a 2C. And for a captain, he has to know he canāt make public comments about what the GM did or didnāt do. Iād be more fine if he stepped up in big moments, but the guy was nearly invisible after the all-star break. He needs to be the example.
I would love to get a 100 point guy. But idk if thats Yzerman plan. Maybe get a better 2nd C drop copp to 3rd. And then get a top def line player
I agree that he isnāt a #1 center, this sentiment has been with me for awhile. Yzerman has struggled with getting a #1
One of the things I liked about the Wings of the 90s and 2000s was the really good natural centers those teams had.
Yzerman Federov Larionov Draper
Datsyuk Zetterberg Draper Filpula even Danger
It just seems to be a struggle to get good centers
Already think thatās Kasper. He was really good with Cat and Kane after the break
God I miss the pre-cap wings. Every summer was āwhich hall of famer we signing now?ā
Great thought on pre salary cap Wings. It was an amazing time to be a fan.
Do you see a split as well between Larkin and the Wings? I just think itās best for both parties. Leadership is an issue IMHO

.
Iām not sure the Wings would get great compensation with his salaryā¦. unless the Wings agree to eat some of it.

It wasnāt really that though. I mean it was part of it but the Wings had a superior scout team led by Jim Nil. Thatās how they found guys like Datsyuk and Zetterberg, Kronwall and Franzen.
