Honestly I like Grossi. Watching the videos of the drafting of Branch was hilarious. But I don’t really love watching a true fan (who is not an arrogant A-hole) have his heart broken. That’s like us for decades. He seems like he would be an awesome fun person to have a beer with.
he said they will keeep LeFleur
The thing is…this could well be true.
It was reported that the day Harbaught was fired, 7 teams reached out to him.
There were only 6 open positions at the time…
Some team basically was signaling they were willing to fire their coach if Harbaugh would go there.
Gonna be interesting to see where he lands.
LaFleur is looking like a guy that has hit his ceiling and can’t get the Packers to the promised land.
Miami, I think, was that 7th team.
If the Packers job is opened this cycle I think Harbaugh goes there.
I think they made him find his own way home on his dime
These teams talking about or actually firing coaches who have sustained success.. are bonkers. This is how Andy Reid becomes available. The chargers got worse immediately after firing a 14-2 marty schottenheimer.
The way I see it.. coaches build teams and staffs and their success should be measured by consistent play, always going to the playoffs. From there it’s up to players to win it when the chips are down. So many random things happen in a football game. Double doinks, tipped balls, bad officiating, etc. it’s hard to consistently win playoff games because of this. The mark of a good coach is giving yourself a shot every year.
last thing i want to see is John H in GB ……
Agreed. I’m not much on lot’s of his weekly stuff but I had to see what he thought of the game.
I don’t think a 62yo coach who has a 3-6 playoff record in the past decade is really what the Packers would want.
Holmgren, McCarthy, and LaFleur were all between 40-44yo when hired.
Son of a bitch
Unfortunately this
Lions fans should hope LaFleur isn’t fired.
18pt lead and SEVEN explosive plays allowed overall in 4th qtr. Hafley is the one who needs to be fired. But somehow some franchises want to interview him as their HC. Do they believe he will bring Parsons with him?
In his defense, Caleb kept some plays alive with crazy athleticism.
He just can’t be counted on to hit the broad side of a barn when he needs to.
Like QB, it’s often easier to get worse at HC than better.
