Levi Onwuzurike still dealing with a back injury

Nice! I had a nice chat with Rich Franklin in a Dave & Busters in Cincinnati once too. If I didn’t know who he was, I would have bet a year’s wages I could kick that dude’s ass. Suuuuuuch a nice and level human.

I know what you mean. Cool that you got to meet Brown. He dates Ronda Rowsey, no?

I’m the shorter, balder one…yes.
…the more handsome one! LOL. (Don’t tell Nate I said that)

Update: he’s not really healing well. Not a good sign.

I wonder if a scalpel would help move things along faster?

I’ve had it with this guy. Throw him on IR, put him in a bubble and cut him if he’s not ready for next season.

Now send next years 2nd round pick to Washington for DPayne to and sign him. In fact, trade every 2nd round pick for the next 10 years.

Back injuries never get 100%.

Not saying he is cooked though, just that they are slow going and easily re-injured and not something the club should be investing high picks in going forward.

I think he will play this year, but he probably isnt going to play more than 1/3 of our defensive snaps at best, and 15 to 25% is probably right.

We will see a lot of short hockey-like shifts for him and the Okwaras…

It’s highly concerning how easily he re-injured his back. At this point I say put him on IR right after final cuts and sit him until he’s as close to 100% as possible. If he has to miss this season so be it. I’d rather that than keep doing the same things that clearly aren’t working.

I want to see paschal play before I play the what if game. Although we may regret passing on a player like brisker.

I’m already giving up on Levi. Guy has shown nothing since being in the league and now a bad back? He’s done unfortunately

I liked him too. I like Holmes, but I think he zones in on a guy and can’t help himself. Levi and Paschel (ironically both his 2nd round picks) are like that. Remember, Holmes had to be pulled off moving up into the first round for Levi.

Why do you draft a kid in the 2nd with back problems next to concussions they are the most problematic and career ending of all injuries.I have had 2 back surgeries over bulging and herniated disk which with his symptoms of not being able to sit and having pain in hip and leg sounds like a pinched nerve from a disk.I hate to say this but I don’t see him playing a long stretch of productive football at this point.

I’m sure he’ll continue to learn and grow as gm. He’s done such a good job so far you almost forget he’s only a second year gm.

In 2 years, he’s gone from the worst salary cap situation in the NFL to middle of the pack…and from the worst roster in the NFL to middle of the pack as well…PLUS we’re young…almost all drafting, and bringing in bandaids that he knew he would release in a year or 2 to position the cap/not overspend.

I would rather be a Lions fan than a fan of any other team by a mile. I love where we are positioned and how it’s developing.

It’s going to be exciting when we finally cross that threshold from hoping we’re good to actually being good. And for more than a season or two every decade.

Already there, bro. Best coach in the NFL…We’re already good…we’re just growing. The biggest difference between “us now” and “Super Bowl us” is experience…development of talent, and 2-5 top tier players.

This year, everyone knows the playbook, the 2nd year guys are able to help the 1st year guys learn, so it’s a “coach on the field” effect. Next year, that’s amplified.

We have depth at most positions, but do need more top end talent at some.

Our WRs are LETHAL, once JaMoss comes back and gets enmeshed.
Our RBs are B-, as a stable, but with great depth, and playing behind a great OL.
OL is really nice, but could use a depth player or 2.
QB - need one, which most likely ends up as a backup (do this Goff…so much on you)
TE - Hoch and Mitchell will be a sweet tandem, but likely add another depth guy, if one of the current developmental players doesn’t work out.

DE/Edge - I think we’re all set. Dudes need to prove they can be healthy and improve the depth/developmental guys.
LB - Rodrigo will be a starter here for 8-10 years…outside of him, we have some okay depth/rotational guys, but need to upgrade the other LB spot(s)
DB - I think Elliot works out. If not, we need at least one, as well as a depth guy.

#1 move is to take the most disruptive DT, unless there is a DE that is light years better. We need to pressure the passer and destroy the pocket. I prefer to collapse the pocket from within, rather than hold the middle and let the ends get there…but if DT is not available, and there is a Lawrence Taylor available…maybe they go that route. Goal is to stop the run and make the QB hate his life.

#2 LB - Gotta upgrade that spot, and they appear to be unwilling to let Fox do it, so have to draft a guy.

#3 -Maybe lose one of our RBs next year because of cap casualty? Draft someone cheaper that upgrades the top end. It is hard to upgrade from Swift IF he’s healthy.

Possibility that a Safety gets hurt and/or doesn’t work out?
We really have some nice rotational CBs, and Shep is AWESOME at getting the ceiling out of 'em.

We get this rolling, then we are positioned to snipe a playmaker or 2 that causes turnovers…mabye a FA that is a massive interception artist? A primate QB terrorizer? LB that is in on 65% of all plays? Javonte Williams?..(yeah, I went there)

I very much love your deep dive into the kool aid pool. I want to follow you but I need to see the hype translate to the field first. I have all the hope in the world for this team. I just can’t bring myself to take that plunge yet.

I also have an issue with a bulging dick. I can get it to go away when my wife lays on her back and puts her legs in the air. But like you said, the most random twist or bending motion by her makes the bulge flare up again. I wake up with stiffness every morning as well. It makes it hard to pee.

Good life eh? Walk down to the local Pfizer office, give blood twice a week, they distill that shit into the active ingredient for Viagra, cash checks…repeat.

Nice work if you can get it.

Anyone heard anything on Levi’s progress?

Has the team given up on him? Has he been at the facility working out?

If the staff feels he could be 100% for 2023 training camp it could dramatically alter our offseason plans.
