Wouldn’t it be a bonus if he could make an impact
I highly doubt we’ll hear anything until the draft or ota’s.
Sadly, I’ve got nothing. I expect an injury settlement more that I expect to see him on the roster. Not a workout video, no update on recovery. In this case I think no news is bad news.
I never really thought about it, & while I think what you say is true…there’s no chance they update the entire league on this before the draft…maybe even FA period (or until play starts).
Good take my man, I had not thought about keeping the rabbit under the hat. Appreciate the perspective.
Our boy Najacks statement either spurred it in me or reminded me.
Zero updates on all 3 big fellas who missed the entire season with back problems. Big V, Kraemer and Levi. Natty is probably right though, why announce anything before free agency and the draft.
What I have heard is you shouldn’t plan on him ever playing football again. Don’t have him in your plans and expectations for 2023. The lions do not at all. They haven’t since last year.
This is definitely the way to view it. Even if he were to play, he’s played very little football in like the last 3 years. At best, if he plays, he’s a rotational player. And pretty much zero shot at being here after his rookie contract. Again, IF he ever plays a snap again.
This is awesome, brother! I love me some Rampage! Wish he trained harder. Amazing fighter. Evans is super-technical, smart, trains super-hard …Jackson is just an animal, as well as super-gifted.
Not great news. Can’t imagine not drafting his replacement with a 1st or 2nd round pick
What’s kinda crazy is we have gotten way more snaps and production out of 2 waiver claims in Buggs and Benito than we got out of Brockers or Levi. Cominsky was another waiver claim.
Interesting. I thought with Wash telling him to live under a squat machine at the end of 21 that it wasn’t terminal.
Sucks, but it’s obviously time to move on. I pretty much gave up when he went doctor shopping to find someone to operate on him.
Frustrating. The injury signs were there. Guess they just didnt think it would be chronic.
I wouldn’t count him out yet. But also wouldn’t count on him. It’s wise to take the position that he won’t be available but doesn’t mean he won’t be.
Was reading an article about lineman and back surgery and the recovery to starter form is pretty high actually. Something like 80%
Your words are saying don’t count on him but it just feels like you are haha…I feel you though! If he could just be a rotational IDL I would consider it a win at this point.
Well, I’m saying don’t count on him but don’t count him out either. If that makes sense
TNutZz…you are right on the $. To me draft Carter or Bresee (I am really starting to like what Bresee might become in Detroit) and make this DL dominant. If Levi is healthy awesome as we are going to need him in a rotation. Levi can take pressure off a top rookie as they find their groove in a rotation. Just don’t count on Levi again as if we do and we get burned (again) that is all on Holmes.
how do you know still dealing with back injury this post is a year old?
A lineman that has his hand in the dirt every snap with severe lower back issues, and I think we can assume by missing two full seasons, that it’s severe, is never going to be 100% and is more likely to never play again.
Two full seasons, with less than two weeks of practice in that time.
I try to be optimistic, but, there’s a time to face reality. Give the man his settlement and wish him well.
