Sounds to me like this guy is slow to diagnose, not good against the run and not a good tackle… Sounds pretty bad… Oh, that was what was written about Kerby in his rookie scouting report

If this kid had obvious talent he wouldn’t have been on more teams than he’s had NFL game weeks. And if Brad really liked him he’d have signed him as a UDFA or claimed him when the Titans cut him.
It’s basically a three-week trial. Perhaps he has specific traits that are suited to one of our upcoming opponents but I don’t think we’ll see much of him myself.
More to speed than a 40 time, but FWIW he ran his 40 slightly faster (4.55) than BB ran his (4.58) at their respective combines. Kyle Hamilton ran a 4.59; Xavier McKinney, 4.63.
He’s probably fast enough.

You don’t want to have an outlier in the DB room. Cohesion and camaraderie are key to a successful defense. We don’t need anybody sticking out from the group, blend in, fit in, all is well.

I don’t know anything about the guy other than the quick reading of this thread. Saleh might not be a good HC, but he’s pretty adept at identifying and coaching talent on the defensive side of the ball. Interesting he didn’t make the cut there, although admittedly, I don’t know what they have in their DB room there.
Fitzgerald is not an in the box Safety like Branch. At USC he was an over the top Free Safety that showed good instincts to break on the ball. The 4.55 time for him is not good and the reason I think he went undrafted. For a FS the closing and recovery speed is more critical than for an in the box S. As I said before I like the move and we have nothing to lose if it don’t work out we cut him.
