Honestly I think he’s got a much better shot at staying healthy playing on the outside. The nickel still does more heavy lifting in run defense.
He hasn’t played in two years. He’s gonna need a lot of reps. I’d play him most of every preseason game.

Could be for sure. Certainly corners in the slot have a lot more responsibility in the run game, so it might be good strategy to keep him away from it.
