No official transactions today, all are leaked rumors. Lions hope someone calls them and offers a sandwich or soda for a player that is rumored to be getting cut.
I like weird numbers like that getting their share of love.
That’s why I hate that they changed their numbering system in the NFL, now everyone wants to be between 0-19. I like that the 80s had electric players representing them at WR. I like that a badass RB could be 34 (Payton, Bo Jackson, Earl Campbell), 42 (Chris Warren), 29 (Dickerson), 41 (Kamara), 38 (George Rogers), 37 (Shaun Alexander), 31 (Priest Holmes), etc…
42 is also, of course, the meaning of life.
And random numbers like 56 can be made to look great by Lawrence Taylor. The NFL used to do more for weird numbers than anyone else.
Also, 53 is prime which means inherently it can’t be boring. And Pat Benatar was born in ‘53. And Ron Jeremy. And Rick Moranis and Chaka Khan and Leon Spinks and Tito Jackson. Also Booger from Revenge of the Nerds.
glazing 53

OG Zach Johnson has been cut. We lost our Hooker and our Johnson today.
We used to have a case of Aveion Cason that was similar. With time symptoms subsided.
I agree. I loved having players limited to positional numbers. We get it, certain numbers are cool. Having a bad ass at number 59 was special though. Those unexpected numbers with awesome players were the best. Also, when WRs occasionally had teens numbers it was fun, now its nothing. Keyshawn is rolling in his retirement grave.
I wish more guys would go old school. I know Lamb wears 88 but he wouldn’t if he had a choice, that’s a tradition thing. It’s cool that Romeo Doubs wears 87, he’s about the only other starting caliber guy who does these days. Mike Williams wore 81 for most of his career but just retired. Jayden Higgins just picked number 81 so hopefully he’ll represent it well.
The Lions have virtually no depth at edge. Unless Z is incoming I’m not sure what the plan is.
Hutch is Elite.
Davenport is Very good (when healthy)
Muhammad was good last year
Oconnor contains well
Cooper has major potential as a UDFA
Thats decent depth. Not crazy but not bad.
hutch is gonna get 90% of snaps.
So those other 4 split 110% so 28% each? Im ok with that
Let’s not forget when we had multiple bouts of the Fluellen
Davenport is always injured, can’t count on him.
Muhammed is a dime a dozen guy
O’Connor is a rotational piece at best and counting on UDFA’s rarely works out
It’s a real weak spot on this roster at a position of high importance. That and the inexperience on the interior offensive line are some real concerns to start the season.
certainties in life:
Death, Taxes, Aveion Cason, Andre Fluellen, Dan Skipper and Tom Kennedy.
What happened to Miles Frazier? I haven’t heard his name all camp.
He’s got a boo boo.
I was hoping we might hear he is back soon. We need the depth.
PUP till week five. Then probably another month to get into football shape. Then it comes down to how ready made was he?
Best case scenario he can help us back half of the year.
Wouldn’t be shocked if Kingsley, Niese, and Muti all made it.
Those 3 OL ^
Cooper, Cunningham, Nowaske,
O’Connor , Lovett
Strickland , Dorsey, and Rock
That’s 11 puts us at 52.
Za’Darius is 53
