Because that’s insane if so.
They undoubtedly have a plan. Maybe it’s Z, maybe it’s someone else who was cut. Worse case I’m pretty sure ALL of these guys will be available to be brought back to the PS

We can get him on the Practice Squad and he’s an international exemption player so he doesnt even count as a spot on the PS !!!

As long as someone else doesn’t claim him.
Which seems unlikely since they’d have to add him to the 53 and he’ll be missing a good chunk, if not all, of the season. At least that’s how it works with healthy guys, maybe it’s different with hurt dudes but I doubt it. Which is why you almost never see them get claimed.
