The thing that I’m confused about, maybe someone can help me understand.
Why cut more players than you needed to? Couldn’t you wait until you signed another player to then cut another guy?
My guess is Skipper and Z come back leaving one spot left.

When they are waived injured, yes they revert back.
When they are waived w/ settlement, they will be gone.
He hasn’t gone through waivers, I think someone might claim him and put him on their IR.
Easily the most surprising move.

My understanding on players waived with injury settlements is that they aren’t subject to waivers. They are a free agent and can sign with any team. Once the injury settlement is done, I think they can sign back with the team that released them after a set period of time. Somebody can correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe Hassenien isn’t subject to waivers but could sign with another team if he wanted.

I have to say, I am super confused. I think it’s easy to say Z and Skipper are 2 of the 3 spots, but why cut Skipper to protect someone else, and choose to go 3 short? Why not just include Skipper on the roster? I really have no idea what the play was here.

This is the waiver system, tons of players claimed off the waiver system.
Rarely do you see a team claim a player because they’d be on the hook and paying him for his injury. I don’t think it’s an unwritten rule, but most teams don’t want to pay more than a half a million for a player that’s injured.
