no need to retract that statement⦠the ā11th rankingā was from Septmber after 2 games⦠and it counted running plays⦠which is not relevant to this topic.
The Lions rank #22 in motion on passing plays.
Your eyeball test is accurate.
So, hereās where Iām at on this. The first time he threw it away, the coaches said it, and he admitted it. The second time, Khaliff Rhaymond was running towards the sidelines and then turned upfield just as Jared threw it. No mention from the coaches about Jared throwing it away and nothing from Jared that he screwed up or that he threw it away.
It didnāt look like a throwaway, throw was too close to being inbounds and there was a WR there. Goff was out of the pocket, no need to throw it near a WR if he was just throwing it away.
Iāll take a liaison position between players, coaches, and FO, as well as leadership coach.
If they donāt want me for that, Iāll takeā¦
Iāve got backup punter.
He did. And when he was hired there was alot of buzz about the hire bc he is an established name and it was impressive that MCDC was able to get him to come Detroit as a Rookie HC. I was really excited about the hire but he didnāt coach the way we all thought he would. He didnāt mesh with Goff, he didnāt mesh with the other coaches, he was misusing swift and he play designs were very suspect. When McVay brought in Wade Phillips people wondered if they would work well, togetherā¦vet head coach taking orders from a rookie head coachā¦letās just sayā¦that scenario was present in Detroit.
Fair enough trade, Iād say. Sheās gonna leave him if he doesnāt dump some of that lady juice heās got running his energy right now. Dude needs to own himself and the situation more. Heās like the little guy, hiding behind his big brothers, energetically.
Iām not questioning Goffs off-field intelligence. But, I am wondering why the offense has to be so simple.for him. It also has been written just recently that Goff has needed some extra help reading his progressions.
His overall performance this season, and the offensive playcalling are reasons to question what the heck is going onā¦
He is flawed as we all are and that includes adjusting to a new town, new team, new everything but being some emotional baggage with him and imho he been dealing with confidence issues - and everyone!! Has them and has them all the time. It how we deal with them daily that countsā¦
Imho he is shifting out of this ādark place we can our own mindā and into the light again! I think we will see he keep getting back closer to his old form
Wellā¦me personally, I dealt with OCD and social anxiety from the age of 12-27. Well, actually my OCD started at the age of 3. Now, of course i was prescribed anti-depressants mainly for my OCD. But it should have helped with social anxiety and it didnt. Then, in college, went to my doctor to see if I could give adderall a try after I was given some from my cousin and it did help me with studies. But it also took my social anxiety away.
The medicine I was also taking for OCD, which was Effexor XR, had its side effects. Made me lazy in a way. I was sleepy a lot. And it did not help me get going and didnt help social anxiety. Soā¦adderall helped me in a alot. Got me motivated. Helped my confidence a ton.
In short, my mind set went from what thinking what people were thinking of meā¦to not caring what people think of me. It was very beneficial in this way. I also didnt take it every day. It caused memory issues for me. I dont take any meds anymore though. I wanted to go natural. And my OCD is not as bad. I also have grown from the time where I wondered what people thought of me. Basically Iāve outgrown it all.
But while taking Adderral I could sell a red popsicle to someone wearing a white fur coat.
That makes good sense. Thanks for the feedback. I have two conclusions at this point. We need to move on from Goff most ricky tick and we need to move on from DC being anywhere near the QB headphone and let people who know what they are doing do it. Stick to being the leader of mean and get someone CREATIVE to handle the offense from play design to playcalling on gameday.
We have THREE first round pick Olineman, a high first round TE who was said to be worthy of that because he was a ācompleteā TE, and a high second round RB. We have a FB on the team and yet 62% shotgun? We have scrub WRās who all struggle to separate and we run little motion or playaction? I heard DC talking about āplaying to players strengths.ā Well itās the QB and the playdesigner/caller that is preventing us from doing that. We should be running a bunch of 2 back, 2 TE stuff with Goff under center, pounding it behind Sewell and running playactions off that. We arenāt.
It has its place and can be helpfulā¦but is also over-prescribed. Itās a big business for college students. A lot of kids get a script just to sell them and make $5 a pill.
