I think you will like it. They spend alot of time on “human” stuff. There are always wives/girlfriends/sisters/mothers that we will be introduced to for the first time and get to see in the episodes. You will only see a few snaps of Hutch vs Sewell and Decker, but we will get to see/hear them interact with eachother on the practice field and in the locker room. So you will get the “vibe.” If Ragnow decides the lineman should go on a fishing trip to bond, they will spend alot more time on that than the practice reps. One really cool thing that Hard Knocks does is show you how legit the positional “rooms” are. When you hear the term “QB room” you can see that its literally just QBs in their own room. The same for WRs and RBs and every other position. So you can see how much time each position group spends together, and why you want to try to get a leader in every “room.” And why it has a ripple effect when you cut or trade a leader from a room…like when we traded Tate and Diggs.

If a team has a superstar, they will obviously get their own portion of the show (like JJ Watt did, for example). But they like to focus on lesser known players, particularly guys who might not even make the roster. Guys like Hutch are low hanging fruit that the show tends to dabble in. When they talk about Hutch his mom will probably get nearly as much air time (dead serious). But they like to spend more time getting to know and covering a guy like DL Demetrius Taylor, who is an UDFA trying to crack an NFL roster for the first time. They will tend to follow a guy like that around the facility more than a guy like Hutch. Another example is with our TEs. Hock has a fun personality so he’s going to get more coverage than a typical starting TE. But they will probably spend more time on TE Nolan Givan trying to make the roster. Someone like that will get more air time than the starters or even the draft picks we just made at TE, unless they have a cool story to tell. I hate to say it but they will build up a guy like Nolan so that you are invested in him as a person, so when they show him getting cut you can feel the pain. And yes, you will get the raw emotional footage of a player sitting in Brad’s office getting cut or traded.

Here’s one from the Dolphins season when Vontae Davis got traded to the Colts.

I’m sure there will be a lot of other airings if you miss it or don’t record it.

Thank you brother!

And don’t forget the dulcet tones of Liev Schreiber blanketing the whole series.

MR gave a very lengthy insight, so not going to quote that. However I will piggyback on it a little if you’ve never seen it.

End of the day, they show almost everything behind the scenes including cut days. I don’t know if every one of them have done it, but the seasons I’ve watched you are right there in the room when the coach has to have that tough talk with a player. It’s heartbreaking even if you’re watching another team so I can only imagine how it’s going to feel for us, watching the Lions have cut days. Watching a person who has busted his butt and given 1,000% for the organization you follow get sent home unemployed is just never fun.

Thanks to Mr. Peabody, think I know how to approach this show. Just kind of hoped he would have went into more detail.

Asking for a friend of mine who has LG smart TVs with the Amazon app on them. Will he need to use a fire stick or is there a way to find programs without paying for HBO max. I am pretty sure nobody on this forum would know the answer since they would never try and get programs without paying for them but asking just in case.

fire sticks are hackable, I believe. Pretty sure that at their root they are Android devices. Amazon app on an LG tv? Totally different story. It’s more of a web browse at that point.

I’m probably going to do what a think two other posters - pay for HBO, watch it and then cancell
