My inside sources have told me that Sheila spent some time with the EA Sports video game team before making the change. They sold her on the idea of taking away something that’s always been there, then reintroducing it years later as something “new.”

When the broadcast starts and when people see how cool it is to be a Lions fan, there will be a rush for tickets and jerseys, so we need to react in time.
If the Patriots or some other club wins ten titles, it will never be a cult club like the Lions.
Next year a rush of free agents to the club, everyone will want to be famous and part of the Lions.

In reality I am sure 95% of NFL fans outside Michigan let out a collective groan and rolled their eyes when this was announced.
Most of them were like “Watching the Lions once a year on Thanksgiving is MORE than enough”

Sooooo many story lines! There won’t be enough air time to show everything but the producers should love the buffet of interesting personalities. I don’t think it could’ve happened at a better time for the Lions…than year two of this new leadership. The NFL world is about to take notice of what is brewing here in Detroit.
