Lomas Brown picked his player Lions should draft at 6

That’s great news. Although I imagine at some point he’s worth a pick, but it’s just way later than some other sap is going to take him.

Lomas Brown… LOL. The smoothie king who tried to get his QB injured.

For his sake we are talking about Scott Mitchell here… wasnt he an asshole besides sucking?

I dont want anyone injured… just talking shit

A lot of people don’t like Scott Mitchell. I wouldn’t go suck, we had much worse. But he sure wasn’t good.

But that’s besides the point, Lomas is the only guy I know outside of Titus Young that tried to sabotage the team on the field. That’s just an instant release for me.

And Lomas works for the Lions. Did Lomas state he tried to get Scott Mitchell hurt? Where is this coming from?

Yep, he specifically said he didn’t try to block the D-end so that Mitchell would get crushed. Pretty crazy that he actually admitted it.

6 is a gift and I want superior talent there over need.

Im mostly on team trade down now. 11 or 12 though.

If his tape was 100% gamewrecker 100% of the time, he would be my pick though.

He discussed allegedly doing that to Scott multiple times i believe. I heard him say it on a podcast once … im pretty sure he used the word allegedly while laughing if i recall correctly.

Yea, I posted the article above with quotes from Lomas. I understand he didn’t like Mitchell but to try to get his own QB hurt, that’s pathetic in my book. Lost a lot of respect for Lomas on that one.

Apparently, Scott Mitchell is not on the Lions organization gift list. Maybe he got what he deserve especially if Lomas is still working for the Lions

Even if you hate the QB, which he clearly did. Lomas was getting paid big money to protect the QB. It’s not like the Lions had a good backup or anything. I didn’t like Mitchell either, but you have to at least try to block for the integrity of the game in my book.

It’s a little dated, but relevant still IMO:

For what it’s worth, Kiper has the us taking
1a - Jalen Carter
1b - Michael Mayer

ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper has released his third mock draft following the first week of free agency.

The veteran draft analyst had the Lions selecting at No. 6 (via the Rams) and No. 18 overall.

With the No. 6 pick, the Lions still took a calculated risk and drafted Carter.
Since the combine, Carter has presumably fallen down many team’s draft boards.

Kiper explained, "Did you watch this defense last season? It ranked bottom of the league in most statistical categories, including yards per play allowed (6.2). The Lions have to keep trying to fix it.

"The easiest way to do that? Take Carter, who has had a troubled few months. Last week, he pleaded no contest to misdemeanor charges of reckless driving and racing for his alleged role in a Jan. 15 car wreck that killed Georgia offensive lineman Devin Willock and recruiting staffer Chandler LeCroy. He also showed up at his pro day nine pounds heavier than he was at the NFL combine, and he was unable to finish the position drills.”

Kiper continued. “He’s no longer in the mix to be the No. 1 overall pick. Everything I’ve heard from people in the league, however, is he won’t drop too far – he likely still will be a top-10 selection. Carter’s talent is undeniable, and I could see a team such as the Lions taking him here, filling a position of need.”

With the second of two first-round picks, general manager Brad Holmes selects Notre Dame fighting Irish tight end Michael Mayer.

Kiper notes, “They traded away T.J. Hockenson last fall and used a committee approach to the tight end position, with Brock Wright, James Mitchell and Shane Zylstra each catching at least 11 passes. All three are under contract for 2023, but shouldn’t Detroit try to upgrade?”

Could the Lions again take a risky selection in the first round, given the extensive needs on defense?

“Mayer is the most complete tight end in this class,” Kiper writes. “He’s physical as a run-blocker, and he can run seam routes and get open for quarterback Jared Goff. He caught 67 passes for 809 yards and nine touchdowns last season and had 180 catches in his college career. He could be the lead guy in Detroit.”

VS O’Cyrus Torrance…

I would be the most shocked the most by any pick if we took Mayer …
