Louis Riddick trying to get lions gm job mentioning stafford

Louis thinks Stafford will be in the interview panel https://heavy.com/sports/detroit-lions/louis-riddick-tweet-matthew-stafford/?fbclid=IwAR3WTl1GxVGdjOHfOQaRrdv6pqgBIqPYtn37J-DKPX_OAo3jDrskXDRv6ks

One comment is gushing? Riddick is an analyst, and his job is to watch and analyze…he just really happen to like one of Stafford’s throws.

And Stafford will have no day in the next GM so way to jump to yet another wild conclusion.

Exactly. Louis is doing his job as an analyst. Nothing more nothing less

“Some of the best throws of the day. Any QB. Any game.” - - - that is gushing.

Guess I don’t see it as such…not like he said Stafford is out her making throws like only Pro-bowlers and MVPs like Montana, Brady, Rogers and Mahomes make.

Nothing wrong with calling a spade a spade and if he thinks they were great throws saying as such!

I’ve always liked Riddick. But I am to Millenized and hate the thought of TV analysts becoming in charge of franchises. I know it’s worked pretty good lately, still irks me.
Riddick at least has some actual NFL team experience. I know Aikman is the hot name round here, but no front office exp is why I won’t join that train. If we go the analyst route , which I hope we don’t, I’d go Riddick over Aikman.

I would not say that hiring Riddick would be the same thing as Millen. Millen was a player, but literally had zero experience working in a front office. He hadn’t even been an intern as a scout, much less any real world experience. Riddick played in the NFL…but he spent almost 15 years in a front office…starting as a scout and making his way up to Director of Pro Personnel for 2 different franchises.

In fairness I don’t think you could watch the passers Stafford was making on the Jones TD drive and not be impressed. There were some big time throws in there.

PFF were very high on Stafford’s performance even with the pick.

I’m not sure Riddick is the best guy. But I bet he’s better than Quinn.

If he starts gushing about Saleh, we’ll know for sure he’s playing the game.

Riddick and Saleh should make a bunch of fans happy.

Regardless of gushing or not there are worse candidates out there!

Just what we need at GM, another armchair TV mouthpiece. No thanks. He would be Millen part two.

How about hiring someone as GM who can show you a recent track record of drafting good players … whether as GM, or the GM’s right hand man. That should be the criteria.

Comparing Riddick to Millen is like apples and oranges. Riddick actually had GM experience then went to the screen as oppose to Millen who went from the screen to President/GM with no experience. That’s a big difference and jump.
I like Riddick. His comment could be used to boost Matthew’s trade value. Who knows???

I don’t have a problem with anyone that can get wins out of this organization. I have seen big names fail.

Enough said.

He was a GMs right hand man. Riddick was a scout and Director of Pro Personnel for the Redskins, and then followed that up with being a scout and Director of Pro Personnel for the Eagles. He has over a decade of front office experience.

Riddick is also interviewing with the Texans

I think Theo Riddick would be a great choice.

Another path I would be taking If I were part of this process and openly saying it will take a while

Using speilman to take notes, you interview 1000 people and write down all the good thing they say you think would work … so you have a sweet list to incorporate when you finally so hire someone…

If lynch can get a gm job why not ridfick , young also
