Mine - DT (Travis Jones) - Despite the need for LBs and Safety I think having a difficult to move object on the interior of your DL changes the complexion of a game. We really showed a weakness stopping the run last year. All our other lineman will be more effective as will our linebackers. Day 1 he is our best run stopping NT. With coaching he will only get better. With a true run stuffing NT and Hutch suddenly our dline looks good. As far as overall defensive improvement I think this is the best option. A high caliber safety would be my second choice.

No thanks. We already have two guys on the roster that can play nose. Playing more 4 man fronts will help our run defense. As will the year onwuzurike and McNeil spent in the weight room.

I want Anderson. We need linebackers and he’s the guy with unlimited upside.

Yes, how long do we have to play poor run defense until we finally fix that. You cannot have a good defense if you can’t stop the run. McNeil and Levi will get better, hopefully Barnes too, but Jones would for sure help that. He might be a natural nose, but he can play 3-tech too and would for sure help stuff the run and bring some pressure up the middle.

Nakobe Dean - quarterback of the defense, force multiplier, well rounded and impactful no matter the down and distance

I want Nakobe dean but if he is gone

Desmond Ridder. I think he could be the QB of the future here. They been comparing him to Mariota which isn’t a bad player to have

Before the draft started, I was on the Willis train. With the lose of a pick, I believe our most glaring needs at this point has to be LB & safety, then follows DT (pass rusher) at this point in the draft process.

I would be happy with a Dean or an Anderson type players (as long as they are big upgrades to what we have currently).

Glad you like him but nobody has unlimited upside - Seriously - WHY do you think a LB makes the most impact? Not arguing - looking for perspectives. Mine is that stopping the run is our most important issue from a strategic standpoint. It makes everything else on defense easier and I don’t share your enthusiasm for our current run stoppers. JMO

Jalen Pitre, position flexibility, big enough to play S, fast enough to play CB, playmaker in the Dre Bly mode. Would love to have him on the Lions.

I would be all in on Dean if I thought he would be available - I just think he is off the board in the first 2 or 3 picks tonight. So with him gone I am looking at where we can make the most siginificant impact across the defense. No offense to Hutch (he is going to be great), but he does not change our entire defense. On the other hand Jameson DOES change our entire offense. So WHAT position or player (or both) would be available that changes the entire defense or changes it the most. For me clogging up the middle does it.

This is my pick as well. We can use him the way Arizona uses Budda Baker. I’m on the Pitre train.

If not Pitre then i want either Muma or Andersen. Both would be excellent field generals.

I’d consider doubling up if Damone Clark was there with our 5th.

There’s really not a single guy that is a top guy left that I would be mad if they took, being honest. Unless it’s an O-lineman or a RB or a WR (nice to say that now).

Given the current board I would cool with Pitre and actually think he may be the selection. His versatility does provide some game changing impact.

We don’t need another WR, but I would love to have the luxury of grabbing Pickens.

Pickens, Jaymo and ASB would be a nasty young core of WRs.

Even Pickens I would understand. You’re planning to move off of Chark after 1 year, rest Jamo to get his knee right, and then you still have a good WR core.

I think there’s another run on WRs early today.

I hope so - the more before GB the better

DeShon Elliott wants Dean.

Given how the board looks I would probably look at Pitre (probably available) and then hopefully Asamoah (possibly available at 97) and then look to sign Akeem Knicks to beef up our interior.

If the Lions snag another WR, this could be the guy (if the Packers don’t take him first):
