Read his scouting report. Once he committed to football as a sophomore, he was a penetrating DT with 5 sacks after 3.5 as a freshman at 285ā¦. In a covid shortened season, Iām ignoring his 320 weight or production in 6 games. Many sat out!
He ran well, jumped well, and did well in drills, nearly a 9 RAS at 15 pounds over weight.
Levi is a long lean DT. 5 Tech hopefully. 3 or 4 sacks
Alim is a twitchy 305-310 3T if used right 5 sacks?
I hate Brockers here beyond this year. McNeill being a 5 sack DT is easier than drafting one, but not while eating NT doubles.
Travis Jones is a top 3-5 strongest guy in the draft. He still got 4-5 sacks against constant doubles and triples.

Right now I have the exact same confidence in Anzalone as our coverage LB and Board backing him up as I do in Levi starting every week.
I have wayyy more confidence in this staff getting Davis, Barnes, or JO starting as the blitz ILB over Brockers.
Bottom line I feel better about our LBs with 2 spots vs our DTs with 3ā¦

That right there is the difference a good linebacker makes. Look at the difference deandre levy used to make. A linebacker that could not only play the run but also cover some slot receivers.
Last year if you broke down the film a lot of the time our problem in both pass defense and stopping the run was because of our linebackers. They werenāt physical at the point of attack. Which is vital if youāre playing a 3-4. They also really struggled in coverage.
