will not open correctly… boo!
Try it again, it opened for me just now.
Yeah, it took a second to load but eventually worked.
you don’t often hear a rookie say this about his coach: “He makes it easy”. This guy sees the field better than most, which is a very underrated LB skill. Can’t wait to see him in pre-season.
Still not working but oh well!
it opens instantly for me.
The Athletic has a good article up about him too. I’ll post it though of course it’s behind a paywall.
Paywall: Lions linebacker Malcolm Rodriguez: What we learned from his college film - The Athletic
tl;dr:
- instinctive against run, quick to diagnose
- fearless, high motor
- potential to penetrate backfield
- his size/length limit his margin for error
- runs into darkness, takes himself out of plays
- pass coverage is a weakness, good at redirecting receivers
youve got that touch!
Never gets old.
For the record she was talking about doing laundry! lol
Uncle Buck!!! what a classic!!!
Top ten in my VHS collection
So basically what I’m gathering on this kid is his only limitation is his length. That will dictate whether he can man the gap or not.
Should be top 5!!

He’s short but he’s very thick. Just a matter of preference.
So he may be great at filling the gap, but less able to penetrate all the way?
Many guys have found success with that, especially with the proliferation of the spread.
The downside is that he needs rather large gaps to get any penetration.
