Clock management and NFL coaches is consistently entertaining. You think they would hire someone to do it for them since so many of them can’t handle it.
Think they wpuld be used to losing and not be surprised by now the way last month has gone.
You play to keep the time out
Damn, that’s painful to watch
Improvise or read from the wrong notes? It was just a few plays earlier where he was reading his armband after the huddle had already broke.
I cannot emphasize enough times how nice it is to be on the other side of this sort of epic lunacy.
Why do people do that to themselves? So I’ve got this video of me acting like a total goof so let’s distribute it as widely as possible.
I’m old enough to remember when shame existed.
Clicks and money of course
SB is right. It used to be that when you did stupid things and acted like an idiot, people made fun of you and you were shunned. Nowadays, recording yourself acting like an idiot and uploading it online is big money. Everyone is hoping to make the next viral video and spend the rest of their life milking it for content.
I also remember my mom telling me that playing video games was never going to make anyone any money, so what was the point. Welcome to today. Thanks Mom!
I agree with Eberflus on this one…
(As a Lions fan) I liked what they did there and think the (Bears) handled it the right way.
If you aren’t going to use the TO, you MUST snap the ball before 8—10 seconds, so if you connect, you get to use the TO to try the FG. A veteran QB would have had that snapped sooner. That was the error.
The way the players threw the coaches under the bus in post game interviews tells me there is real trouble brewing in Chicagoland.
There’s been trouble. A few weeks ago there weee rumblings he had lost the team.
Yeah, there is a continued and growing lack of respect.
Yet they’re still a +1 in net scoring. I think Eberflus is a good teacher, but I also think he needs players who are leaders in the locker room. Between Allen and Moore (two respected veterans) they’ve proven they’re not capable of leadership. Eberflus is going to lose his job, and he should, but with decent leadership in the 53, this works out differently for him. Now you add in a child at QB and it only reinforces the need for he himself to be more of a leader than a teacher.
I might be the only one that thinks what he said made sense, taking a time out after the sack wouldn’t help because you were out of field goal range. You had 36 sec, your trying to get a short play to get you back in field goal range and then call time out to kick the field goal. But you QB scrambles around then throws it to the end zone. I believe it’s all on Williams for one holding the ball way to long in that situation. And then he goes for it all. Witch probably wasn’t part of the plan. He should have tried a quick hitter type play. That’s that back yard football that some love. Maybe I’m missing something.
I’m with you on that a bit, but come back to the 29 to 32 seconds they would have still had. Two massively negative plays in a row to take them out of field goal range warranted using the final timeout. It’s 3rd and 26. Get your FG team ready. We’re going to have one more offensive play to get what we can and then run FG team out there. There’s plenty of time, even at 28 seconds. To ignore what just happened with Jenkins and then the RT is where the HC failed most.
Seeing a replay of the play on GMFB this am I will say one thing with regards to the clock. When he was sacked and started to get up while Lion players were celebrating the clock was at 32sec at that point.
Doesn’t change the narrative as they blew it no doubt but they didn’t start the play with 32sec on the clock.
Right. They were lining up at 20 seconds, and, amazingly, snapped the ball at 6 seconds. Ummm, that’s not part of a two minute drill.
