At the time I just thought our offense needed some juice. I just seemed like it was taking us 15 play drives to get down close enough to miss a FG.
I think our biggest problem now is money and signing the guys we want to keep. Actually a good problem to have but one that has to be dealt with. I think money will influence draft decisions now a lot more than it did 4 years ago. We are in a different situation.

I still think that’s far and away the most likely, but I also think it’s possible it isn’t as heavily trenches as you and many others on here want it to be. We’ll see soon enough. A lot depends on how the draft plays out. I honestly believe we had some interest in WRs last year - we brought a lot of them in for visits - but there was a crazy run on them after we took Arnold.

I see Golden, Burden, and Egbuka being comped to Garret Wilson, Olave, and JSN.
I have a hard time seeing them making it to our pick if so.
I’m stuck on Tory Horton…but like every other round 3 WR I love I’m sure he will go before our pick. Could trade down from #60 and get take him

If Tyler Warren somehow fell to us I think Brad would take him.
I think he would be heavily considered at the very least. He’s a unique weapon (I wouldn’t be shocked if Chicago took him for Ben).
I think DE, OL and a Safety will get drafted, maybe a WR if the right guy is there. I am not expecting much more than that.maybe a 2nd DE. I just hope we are not using picks from next year for trade ups in this draft.
You saw where I had Horton ranked overalll… 11th I think? Something like that. So I loooove him. But will Brad? He’s drafted a few of my crushes… Alim, Rodrigo, Jamo Branch, Wingo… which comes out to a little more than one per draft. (More if you include Hutch and Sewell, but everyone loved those guys). I would be very happy if the one in this draft was Horton or Winston.
I don’t see a scenario where we don’t draft 2 edges honestly

Hes got all the guys I liked for round 2-3 lumped together so we only get 1 of them it seems.
If we can somehow leave this draft with 2 edges and Tory Horton.
Saturday I would say trade that late 4th for a future 3rd…
Round 6,7,7 Safety, McLaughlin to redshirt, Lahontay and Lachey.
I would find that very successful personally

2027 - get some comp picks finally we have a loaded group of mid tier guys that will qualify as free agents in 2026
I just chose him as an example bc he’s hard not to like. But the point was more so that Brad hunts stars in round 1. Stars at their respective positions. He’s not going DL just to go DL.
Fortunately I think it looks fairly likely that need and value match up

Honestly, whoever he takes, we’ll talk ourselves into them by the end of the week.
We spent basically no time talking about Jamo, Levi, LaPorta, Campbell, ARSB, Paschal, before the draft, but within a few hours we thought they were great.

I wasn’t around for 2022. But I have to imagine Jamo was like Arnold…nobody thought we would have a chance to get him so why bring him up.
Jack Campbell had a ton of love here.
Laporta…only a few wanted a TE that’s why he didn’t get brought up much…when he did it was like why not go right to the source TE Mecca Hawkeyes.

I like Jones better than Swinson. If you watch the Senior Bowl game Sai’vion and Landon Jackson were the best pass rushers there and I think we will like both of these guys.
