Merits of Drafting Will Levis

From a personality standpoint he’s the perfect QB for us. I just have serious doubts that he’s any good.

Ben Johnson might try to take Goff with him and Detroit could be in a bidding war to keep him. Also if Goff works out and re-signs here, Levis could be traded to Ben Johnson’s next team in a year or two. I’m not of the school back-up QB doesn’t matter and I like the idea of a developmenal behind Goff so Detroit doesn’t have to get locked into paying him $45M when he could be product of the O-Line Detroit then couldn’t afford to keep in front of him for the long guaranteed contract he signs to stay here. I’d rather have Hendon Hooker at 18 though for this role.

That’s when my “trust in Brad” will have to be accompanied by some of my trust in Uncle Jack Daniels.

A dude doesn’t do all of what we have seen to this point and one pick undo it all. We have never seen what has occurred over the last two years. Elite talents are taking 1 year deals to come to Detroit. Players are taking paycuts to stay. Drafts are looking like A plus drafts the further we get from the the date. We are entering year 3 for the original draft…now I don’ blame anyone for getting nervous…but I’ll role with whatever happens.

Ben Johnson stays.

Any way possible.

I had to go back and watch his 2021 tape. It’s very good. That arm and Jamo is intriguing. For me, its total trust in BH. If he decides it’s whats best, he’s linking his career to him. So be it.

I could be wrong on AR and WL, no doubt. When Herbert was drafted, it was bust city for me, i laughed at the chargers. He had a mediocre last year, didnt seem to even like the game. Boy was i wrong!

Yeah, you and me both. Didn’t think he was very accurate either (sound familiar?). So I’m not willing to write off anyone, especially walking into a situation as conducive as ours to QB development.

This QB class has Chuck Long/Andre Ware written all over it.
Oh, you guys would have loved those drafts, and by draft day, most would have been convinced our #7oa or #6oa QB was going to set the world on fire.
I’ll pass. There’s just not enough hype.
Anybody remember the first two over all picks of the 2002 class.
We’d have been better off if they’d have kept Stoney Case.
David Carr was #1oa.
Joey Blueskies #2.
And they were the best prospects, in that class.
Guess who turned out to be the actual best QB in that class?
Shaun Hill.

I always thought Chuck Long would have been a good QB if anybody but the Lions took him. Andre Ware should have never been drafted that high.

I’m just saying, the media has a long history!

True. The media will do what it does. But I also think its easy to forget when they are right too.

Andre goes with the system pick that you reach for. We were running the run and shoot and he came from a run and shoot offense. If I remember right

A month or so ago I estimated that chance at 20%. Now I’d say it’s about 3%. We’ll have to take him at #6 or find a suitable trade for the AR lottery ticket, IMO.

Do we really want a QB who is afraid of milk?

I am going on record to state my opinion as fact, that we will draft players in this draft!

Haha → I’m full on board with it too.

I often wonder how Mel kiper still has a job. Or that anyone listens to him.

It’s a tough choice. If everything continues going to plan we won’t be drafting this high again for a very long time. You’re kinda playing with house money with that pick.
