I’m assuming the fan initiated the encounter as a dick. Name calling though doesn’t mean you punch someone: the player lost emotional control and screwed it all up.

Stop and try to get some form of recording and get the Dan barred for life frim the game…

Likely yes. If this fab actually said these nasty things it will come out. But this is his lawsuit meaning a credible attorney would be unlikely to bring a lawsuit to turn around and be embarrassed.
Does DK have motivation to lie? Absolutely. Otherwise he is a hot head who assaulted a fan. But, DK IS good if the guy said racist things. Right? DK gets motivation to punch a fan if he said racist things. But if DK is lying?

Basketball players deal with this WAY more than NFL… They literally sit and play next to fans. All DK had to do was say something to security and the fan would’ve been dealt with. He chose to be a dumbass instead, now it’s gonna cost him on top of the game checks he already lost.
DK is wrong in this one. What the fan did is what fans do….they heckle and say nasty, disrespectful shit. Can’t fall for the bait. And yes that fan was in the confines of his seat behind the teams bench. DK had no business going over there!
