Mike Martz on 3rd and 1 call and Ben Johnson

Yep. It’s a no win, if you don’t make it.
Kinda loved, kinda hated what he had to say about Ben Johnson.
He’s going to be a HC, soon. Probably not here.
I love Campbell, but, I don’t want to lose Johnson, who I believe is going to be the next Belichick.

I respect Martz take both on the play and Ben.
We are lucky to have him, I believe Ben, Dan, and Fraley are the 3 minds behind the Offense at this point. I hope we have Hank ready when the time comes.

Nice find @DeadStroke!

Mike Martz’s words carry a lot of weight, he’s a well respected football mind.

“(Ben Johnson) best play-caller in the league right now”

“he’s a meteor rising”

“will be a head coach soon”

Incredibly high praise for Ben Johnson.

Wow, that’s quite the statement.

Listening to Ben speak is like listening to Tom Brady.
Then, you see what he does with so many missing pieces.
I also agree with Checkmate that Campbell and Fraley are also heavily involved, but, the thing about Ben is, he’s obviously a sponge. He does nothing, but, learn.

Let’s give him HC money to stay…with incentive clauses all over it.
Let’s have the highest paid coaching staff and win!

I sure hope you are right! Because now he’s getting Jamoss Jr! Remember what BB did with Moss.

Who is gonna be the next Don Shula? The GOAT coach, imo.

Only 2 losing seasons…in 33 years!

I’d be very happy with that.
Sheila has been buying in to tying up money on IR for the right players. Tie up some money on a great young coach.

Maybe part of my hesitation on crowning Johnson as being the next great coach… Matt Patricia hired him. haha

I wonder what Parcells would have done if he hadn’t moved around so much?
What he did with the Patriots was amazing…same with Giants…and Jets. Took garbage teams to conference championships and SBs. Absolutely amazing what he did.

If he had stayed with one team, and not had to rebuild, what would that have looked like?

Yup, give Johnson the title Assistant Head Coach and a big raise.

It’s an interesting question, Parcells did move around a ton. But, then ask yourself what success did Parcells really have without BB!?

Bill Parcells in 8 seasons without Bill Belichick: 58-68 (.460) ; 0-3 in playoffs. Never won a playoff game without him.

Duece already has that title.

That’s right, I forgot. They better think up something else then. LOL

People say that about Parcells. Then they also say Belichick hasn’t had success without Brady. Does that mean Parcells success is indirectly due to Tom Brady?

Parcells is a great coach who just burned out after a while and needed time to reset. I think a part of him really liked the challenge of building something more than taking over something “built”. Had he stayed at the Patriots what would his legend be? He pondered that himself once. We’ll never know.
