Who knows? I don’t know there was a better Prospect than Hope that was moved was there?
And that because the Dodgers had literally five Outfield prospects in the top 75 overall for the league. I get the feeling and reading the Tigers minor league system and Major League situation that they needed a power hitting right fielder Prospect. I don’t see another one out there that look to be on a team that was looking to buy a big piece like Skub like that.
When you’ve got a hole in your wall it doesn’t matter if the same company is selling a nice door or if somebody else is selling a beautiful window.
Most think Eyarson was the top prospect moved. Mayer was four months removed from being the top guy. But prospect stars dim quickly of course so he’s nowhere near that now.
I have no clue. But you saw what I saw in terms of the market, right? Until yesterday it felt like last year’s deadline excluding the DeVries for Miller exchange. Then yesterday things shifted and teams were suddenly spending. The Sox in particular were going nuts. But I thought both the Phillies and Padres paid more for Arraez and in particular Ray than I was expecting.
There was a story circulating before the deadline that all those OF prospects were rated so close that not everyone had them ranked in the same order.
This could just be a case of The Tigers had Hope ranked the highest (for them) so they jumped on it.
Harris deserves some of the criticism he gets for sure, but overall, his young player evaluations have been very good. I trust that Hope will be a big part of our team.

They should just focus at hitting line drives straight at his face rather than trying to score runs. I’m petty like that.
I’d prefer they hit line drives at Boras’ face but that isn’t possible.

After winning the World Series we will have discovered that we were better off without them. They’ve just been holding us back.
Prospect rankings have Hope at 25 and him at 49. Hope is a lot closer, though that pitcher has a lot of helium. I am a bit on the TINSTAAPP train though.
