In fairness Hoffman was so bad this year he lost his closer job. He has been much better as a 6th or 7th inning guy

Mayer has struggled to acclimatize. Jordan Walker wasn’t that good. Development isn’t linear.
Granted he may end up sucking. But burying a former top ten to twenty prospect and former potential number one overall pick after 332 at bats is a bit foolhardy IMO. Walker sucked for his first 1,000 ABs.

It isnt the player. Its the return for a lesser player where skubal would of went for more if harris didnt trade skubal like a hooker trying to make $20
Actually he screwed up by not trading Skubal in the off season.

It just feels like compensation jumped today. All I can think of is that everybody but the Dodgers said we’re out. But I don’t totally understand why. Rutschman has one more year of control but isn’t in Skubal’s galaxy and the O’s got more compensation IMO.

could justify skubal. could justify mize, but when you’re 2.5 out of the WC, not skubal and mize. WTF???
