I think we’re terrible people
Thanks, I laughed at that and now we’re both going to hell.
To Da Bears?
I don’t get it. Hey everybody we are 2 and 6 and going nowhere…how about we trade a 2nd rounder for a rental player.
Chase Claypool worked out so well last year…lmao
Nothing worse than a desperate GM and coach willing to sacrifice the future of your team for picks you likely won’t make. Kinda Bob Quinn-ish!
I know that to be the case 100% for at least half of that group.
It’s no fun if I’m there by myself.
When they have the player in the building, they have the option to tag him. Also, if he gets a mega offer from someone else they will get a comp pick.
I think Sweat was the guy we were after. And like they did last year when they beat GB to Claypool, Chicago made a crazy offer to get their guy that Brad wouldn’t trump. And I don’t blame him. Sweat’s a good player, but he’s not worth a 1st round pick.

Frankly, this appears to be another very bad move by the Bears front office. For a team that is not contending, they send a 2d round pick for an end of the year rental. Sweat is going to be a free agent and the Bears can only hope that they can keep him.
Now I know how Packers fans viewed the Lions thrashing about for years, making dumb moves just trying to be relevant!****
The Lions were in on Sweat. Washington wanted their 1. Lions had no leverage in negotiations because there’s no chance they’d give them their 1 (24-32). Bears 2 is (33-40) lions 2 is (56-64). No chance.
I just see a sweaty bear digging through a dumpster
I feel like the Bears did this just to F us. Probably years of paranoia. This is a really weird move though.
Decker and Sewell say “bring it”.

That is what I was wondering. When @Tucker dropped the nugget the other day that a contract extension in conjunction with a trade had to be worked out by Monday, I began to wonder whether there were any loopholes with Franchise Tagging. If they have that ability, then they still have leverage and it’s not a completely stupid move. Lol.
The franchise tag isn’t exactly endearing to players.
Sweat wants to get paid, he won’t be happy with the tag. I feel like this going to end badly for the Bears but maybe I’m wrong .
I remember in the off-season when the bears signed a bunch of guys, people said we should be worried about that defense. Well they aren’t scary with their off-season additions and they aren’t particularly scary with Sweat.
I used to respect the Bears - a long f****** time ago…

Newest Chicago #Bears DE Montez Sweat indicated that he’s not currently ready to sign an extension. “I just want to consider everything around me before I make a decision.”
Ryan Poles sphincter just collapsed.
Yeah, he had to have already known that. And he traded for him anyway. I think Sweat knew we were in for him and now he’s despondent that it was Chicago who got him.
