Most passing yards since 2017

Brady is a vampire. Goff and Stafford at 5 and 6. A little surprised Cousins is up there. He’s that sneaky really good QB people often overlook

frankly I am stunned that Matt is above Aaron Rogers here , I hate Green Bay yet their franchise has had it’s stuff together more than Detroit ever did.

I’m sure Green Bay had a more balanced office. More plays from under center with play-action. This chart is only half the story of an offense if that. It would be interesting to see the attempts

And you’re not stunned that Goff has more than both of them, after the 2021 season?
I’m a Goff fan and I never would have guessed. Not in a million years!

I may be even more stunned that 103-year-old Tom Brady heads the list.

Good for Goff. I hope he tears it up this year where we don’t have to spend a high draft pick on a QB and then wait through his growing pains. If we could concentrate our beefing up our defense next year and keep the offense intact we may be a monster very soon.

The top 4 have avoided injury, if I’m not mistaken.

Tom Brady hasn’t missed a game in those years. Not 1. That’s probably more impressive than the yards, even though they’re obviously connected.

Cousins has missed only 1 game in 7 years.

Carr has missed 2 games in 8 years.

Ryan has missed 3 games in 14 years.

Wow. That’s a lot of football avoiding major injury.

And Stafford missed 8 games in 2019. And, although Stafford’s career average is 273 yards per game, he was averaging 312 yards per game in 2019. Add another 2400 yards to Stafford’s total and he’s No. 2 on that “since 2017” list.

If we did try to reduce it to YPA to account for injury, Mahomes would quickly ascend to the top of the list for the same 5-year period. I think Stafford would be 2nd.

Still, the story to me is #1 and #2 on that list being as old as they are, yet still reliable and productive.

Interesting to look at. I like this sort of stuff too, but dont’ put too much into it.

I prefer the stats that make Allen and Stafford look like the best in the league. LOL

People still dog on cousins. People should see how bad his defenses have been

He’s REALLY good when not pressured. He can make throws into tight windows, can throw deep, etc. Some QBs become 20% less effective when pressured, some 50%…with cousins, he’s like 85% less effective when pressured. He is really bad under pressure.

Of all the QBs I’ve seen enough of their play to make a judgement, he is the one that most reminds me of Goff…the good and the bad of it.

Again doggy the guy. Look what the saints did to Brady last year with pressure. Or tbay defense did with mahomes he ran around with his head cut off.

Nah - Stafford reminds me most of Favre…the good and the bad. That’s just how I see it. Not sure why it’s dogging.

…especially what Tampa did to Mahommes in SB before last. I agree w/it. Also, not all pressure is created equally. So hard to put stats on it.
Does pressured mean you are rolling out, have room to pass, but are still on the move with someone bearing down? …or… Does pressure mean you do play action, turn around, and there’s someone on you already, where your goal becomes to not fumble at that point?

Pressure makes a lot if qbs different no matter who they are cousins doesn’t have the ability to run around like few qbs in the league do

Completely agree. Same with Goff. Same with Stafford.
There are both physical and mental components to handling pressure. Cousins scores very low in that department…as it pertains to both.

It’s a good point. Staying healthy is huge. If Goff doesn’t get Covid last year he’s probably number 3

I’m shocked Goff is on the list. Last year his top WR options were:

Amon-Ra St. Brown (4th round rookie)
TJ Hockenson (A TE that missed 5 games)
Kalif Raymond (Generally a special teams or depth guy)
Josh Reynolds (A guy that didn’t show up until mid/late in the season)
Quintez Cephus (A guy that missed 13 games) !!
D’Andre Swift & Jamaal Williams - RB’s that split reps and also each missed 4 games

Genuinely impressive. Not saying Goff is a world beater, just commenting that I’m surprised a guy with these options didn’t plummet beyond the top 10, at least.

I agree on Cousins, he’s a lot better than given credit for. Lack of playoff success, only 1 playoff win is what hurts him from getting the credit he deserves. But check out his past 4 seasons. Those are all really good seasons. If the Vikes had a better defense, they could be a very good team. That’s why they fired Zimmer because he was suppose to be a defensive expert, but his defenses have sucked recently. They have 2 really good WR’s and a stud RB to go with Kirk. Hopefully the defense continues to suck.

I honestly never got the Cousins hate. Many of the reasons we state why certain QBs lack playoff success applies to Kirk Cousins IMO. I honestly think if the Saints, in ANY of those seasons between 2017-2019, could have won a Super Bowl with Cousins instead of Brees.
