My error from 2021 season.Week 18 Sunday Night not Lions

Just saw it, it is Chargers vs Raiders

Sorry folks from 2021 season

(NFL announces Week 18 schedule for Saturday games and "Sunday Night Football")

Is that last year? Didn’t Dallas and Philly play today?

yeah - that is last year. I don’t think they release until Tuesday.

That is not last year as last year it was Bills vs Miami SNF

But looks odd for this year and not correct for eagles.

I dont think it will be sunday night. Since Philly still involved, dont they want all teams affected to play at same time?

Chiefs do play the Broncos and Chargers and Raiders play. Not sure why it has Boys and Eagles.

But the Broncos didn’t play KC in their last game last season, and the Chargers did play the Raiders in their last game last season either. Looks to me like they just messed up the graphic for the 8:15pm game on ESPN.

Denver vs Vegas in 2023

KC vs Chargers 2023

That was 2022, the game where it was win and in, but if both teams tied, they would get into the playoffs together and knock out the Steelers. The plan was working, right up until Staley called a timeout in OT. The Raiders got the ball back and kicked the game winning FG to get them and the Steelers in and knock the Chargers out.

Yeah Eagles Cowboys threw me off - assumed it was from a previous year. I thought they said Week 18 would not be announced until after Week 17 was complete.

Thats what I thought also. Im a little surprised since the Chargers game doesn’t mean much.

The only thing I can find on scheduling is this:

“In Week 18, two games will be played on Saturday (4:30 PM ET and 8:00 PM ET) with the remainder to be played on Sunday afternoon (1:00 PM ET and 4:25 PM ET) and one matchup to be played on Sunday night (8:20 PM ET). Specific dates, start times, and networks for Week 18 matchups will be determined and announced following the conclusion of Week 17.”

They do not provide an actual date, so I assume it is after Monday night. There are no announcements on the NFL or ESPN home pages and Week 18 is still TBD for all games.

I’ll be stunned if it’s not the Lions

I just can’t see how it’s not the game of the week. This is THE perfect setup for the league. And the Lions have been doing big numbers. They are a brand now.

The NFL will have and release the schedule during the Lions vs 49ers game. Now that the Vikings game has ended, they already know who is playing when. They will release it during the game so the announcers can hype it up and because the outcome of the MNF game will have no impact on standings.

That game in that slot with those implications is going to do a massive ratings number.

They basically just hinted at it on that recent promotion for half time, mentioned it being a historic matchup and that the guys are already excited about it. Seemed to imply they knew they’d have that game next week but aren’t officially yet supposed to say so.

My bad, this is from the 2021 season. I will change header.

I like that we are pumping up a thread that had no reason to even exist. Also, you know damn well that NBC is going to give Tirico a late Christmas present and let him call a home game.

My guess is they’re waiting to see if Lions gets through the game without major injuries.

If Goff gets injured, no chance they’re flexing that game.
