NBA & China

It’s raining? Impeach Trump! He obviously colluded with God, and you know how Democrats hate God!

lol if only we had access to the OTT archives from around 2009/2010.

Yeah, I remember quite clearly calling you a Democrat calling himself a Republican then. Not a demned thing has changed.

Yup, I remember that. I remember calling you a partisan right winger calling himself an independent too. Nothing changed their either.

What I’m not is a Socialist. What I am is a Kennedy/Reagan Democrat in the mold of my teamster and UAW grandfather’s!
Once I realized everything I heard, saw, read, and was taught was under the control of 60’s radical Democrats I began to question everything!

It’s all about China at this point. Put everything else aside my fellow Americans. Keep your eyes on the real threat to you and your family. This is dire.

WTF?
Who are these people? These corporatists? They have no soul.

How you view the Democratic Party is how I view the Republican Party. I’m a John Kasich, George H W Bush, John Engler, Mitt Romney, Ben Sasse Republican. When I look at the Republican Party today I have no idea what the hell im looking at. So for you to call me a pretend Republican is a compliment. It means I’m doing a good job separating myself from the madness.

So, a RINO. It’s cool. There are conservatives masquerading as Democrats, too. Two sides of the same rusty old plug buckle, anyway. Never had any value, never will!
Are you a loyal American? That’s my only question. Are you loyal to the Constitution and the People, or are you loyal to a party, privately or publicly?
I am one of the People! The bullshit you’re pulling is on us!
You like to look back. Who was I supporting in 06 primary season? What do you gain from a President Biden, oh RINO pal of mine?

If those people I mentioned are now rinos, so be it. My politics haven’t changed. If my party’s have so be it. I won’t change with them. I’m grown enough to be comfortable in my own skin and don’t feel the need to conform to others. I’ll leave that to others.

Am I loyal to my country and Constitution? What do you think mr. arbiter of who is and isn’t loyal to their country?

Doesn’t matter what I think, and that’s a good thing cause I don’t believe a thing that comes out of your mouth without verification, and even then, I suspicious.
When someone constantly defends lies, you come to know them as a list.

So I’m a liar now? Look, you are more then welcome to refute anything I say. You never do that though. You just change the subject with some random ramblings, usually about Hillary and socialists, then you run away. It’s hard to have a conversation with someone who does that.

You know, maybe I’ve missed it, but, I’ve never seen you bitch about this:

This thread started about China/Hong Kong then you talked about TDS. Then you talked about impeachment. Then you were on to talk about my party affiliation. Then you questioned my love for country and the Constitution. From there you called me a RINO. Then you insinuated I was an untrustworthy liar and now you are on to Hillary’s emails. Is there any more random shit you want to pack into this thread? Good Lord focus on at least one thing for more than 5 minutes.

The thread was about the NBA and James Harden. You had no interest in that being the topic of the thread, so you instantly swapped it for your own.

So I’m slowly digesting the details of what’s unfolding and I’ve got some thoughts.

First, I have no issue in principle with the NBA trying to appease its market in China. But upon further inspection, I do think the WAY the NBA kind of made the owner who supported Hong Kong into the bad guy wasn’t the way to go. I am not sure what the correct statement should have been. But Silver’s recent comments are as follows…The commissioner on Tuesday issued a new statement that acknowledged the initial comments left “people angered, confused or unclear on who we are or what the NBA stands for.”

That reminded that the NBA is different. They don’t really tamp down on players, coaches and owners making political statements. They even made an active political statement from the league level over a bathroom bill when they pulled their all star event from Charlotte. If that’s who you are going to be as a league, that’s fine. But if you turn a blind eye simply because of the dollars involved, you are sending a bad message about who you really are and what you are about.

While China is sensitive AF, I can kind of see where they are coming from on acting so swiftly against the NBA. As one article I read stated, China is concerned that the sentiment expressed by the Rockets owner could grow legs. And if it grows legs and gets “to the LeBron James level,” you might have a movement on your hands. Or at least something inconvenient to deal with for a while, so its better to tamp it down now.
