He has one more game of eligibility left. They have to address it after that.
“After taking back both Kevin Huerter and Dario Saric in the Ivey trade, the Pistons have too many players rostered.
They also have Daniss Jenkins, who is now the de-facto backup point guard with Ivey gone and only has a game of eligibility left before the Pistons either have to promote him to a full-time deal or lose him for the playoffs. “
They could just cut Isaac Jones and Saric. Neither one of those guys will ever play for us.
I am really, really hoping for another trade though. Huerter addresses the outside shooter coming off the bench but I really want to see a big move to get a true running partner for Cade.
He’s taking up a roster spot. But why take on Saric just to cut him and Jones to make room for Jenkins? There’s something about “not packaging” Saric’s salary in the trade, I’ve heard that allows us to trade him again.
Either Chicago or Minny said to us, this doesn’t work unless you take Saric, and so we just cut him and Jones…OR…Saric is packaged in another deal (MPJ?) maybe with LaVert to make the salaries even out. Why would the Nets hold on to MPJ – they’re not building around him.
They’ll cut Saric and Isaac Jones, I don’t think there’s anything more tonight than that. It doesn’t mean another trade won’t happen but I don’t think the overcrowded roster automatically signals trade.
Tbh I think the roster is overcrowded even if they cut those two guys. Reed and Sasser who are legit NBA players are either human victory cigars or injury fill ins. I’ve always thought a 3 for 1 type trade would be perfect for the Pistons, those two aforementioned players should be regulars on an NBA roster.
Detroit teams don’t make bold moves. I’ve never seen a group of professional teams in one city that value team culture and locker room vibes over all else more than Detroit teams. Not that they aren’t good well run teams but they all seem to be missing critical pieces to be Championship contenders and either aren’t ballsy or cunning enough to pull it off. All signs point to the Pistons largely standing pat.
I read this a little while ago and I’m unsure what it means. Can you help me out and explain why we would use one versus the other? Thank you in advance.
"Wait so they used the BAE for Saric. Not the TPE. hmmm”
