It’s about a long term vision my friend. Things like depth and defense can only take you so far if you’re outgunned offensively and the Pistons are right now by a lot of playoff contenders. It all looks good in low energy regular season games but the NBA moreso than any sport IMO has a wide gulf of difference between regular season and playoff intensity. I think they’re going to be in for a rude awakening come playoff time.

Watch the Pistons get bounced in the 2nd rd. Teams will blitz Cade and force him to give it up. Teams will score at ease especially against the 1st string. Duren and Tobias are terrible defensively. They don’t have the foot speed. It make no sense to pay Duren 40 mil for being a part-time player. He is not a legitimate 2nd option IMO. He needs Cade to be great! So, if Cade goes down this is essentially a lottery team because so much is built around him unlike the great Piston teams of the past.
I had an idea it is a 2 part deal but would bring in someone who can score and be a good 2nd/3rd
Detroit trades: Lavert/Saric/2nd
Detroit get: Derozan/Furphy
Grizz trade: Morant
Grizz get: Monk/Lavert/future 1st from Kings
Kings trade: Monk/Derozan/future 1st
Kings get: Ja
Pistons get a vet who could be a solid 2/3 with Cade.
Grizz get out of the Ja deal get a couple cost controlled vets and a future 1st
Kings(rumored to be in on Ja) get Ja for a reasonable deal

Can the pistons be the nuggs in the best out of 7. Those two monsters will eat the pistons up. But their is pretty good. I think Harris and Duran will get pretty tired if they go into any game 7
If that’s the case, then we’re in the finals. I’d consider that a successful season.

I went back and looked at all the Pistons losses this year. The number of times they held a lead going into the 4th quarter and lost: 2
Milwaukee and LA Clippers.

Yes but there were a lot of close wins when they blew a big lead, some to teams that aren’t good, and barely hung on when they couldn’t find any answers offensively.
Probably could’ve got him for a 2nd round pick. Pistons dont have chance to get him
He can score but he’s a terrible player, he’s the definition of an empty stats guy. I know I’m screaming for the Pistons to add a scorer but you have to at least have some buy in to the team game and Thomas doesn’t from my recollection.
