They have to trade Harris this year from a cap usage and manipulation standpoint. It makes no sense not to.

I will also ask the question why is a top three or four player like Giannia available? Because he is forcing his way out even after getting both of his brothers placed on the team and having a lot of input into how the teams put together which predictably has gone poorly. I’m not saying he’s LeBron but he’s got a little Cryrie in him for sure, even down to the injuries.

I really feel like the depth is a renewable resource for Trajan right now and if he gets a couple of them sent away in a deal I have full confidence he can find a couple of gems to polish up and we may already have them in guys like Klintman. Right now is not the time to be afraid right now is the time strike and make the obvious move to fill the obvious hole in this team

Good post.

I would love to open up an extra spot for Klintman. He may actually be the 3 point shooter we have been looking for off the bench. I think he could make a small impact right away.

I think a move like this is probably the most likely. Low risk, could notch us a future asset. Doesn’t affect the rotation a ton.

@Snags I do think the depth is key, but I think the defensive mentality in the short rotation is what makes our offense go. I think Ausar is one of the key elements of this, and is tremendously undervalued in general. After Cade and Duren, I think he is the most essential piece we have. And I think Holland and Stew just amplify it a ton. Those 3 set the defensive tone that makes this team go.

Edit: just read Tatum may not be coming back. Strong reason to consider a push.

How about this?

NBA Rumors: Detroit Pistons Go All In For Title Chase In Trey Murphy III Trade Proposal NBA Rumors: Detroit Pistons Go All In For Title Chase In Trey Murphy III Trade Proposal

New Orleans Pelicans Receive:

  • Tobias Harris

  • Jaden Ivey

  • 2027 first-round pick (via DET)

  • 2029 first-round pick (via DET)

  • 2031 first-round pick swap (via DET)

Detroit Pistons Receive:

  • Trey Murphy III

I don’t follow the NBA closely enough to have an opinion on Murphy, the stats look good.

How is his outside shooting, really Detroit’s main weakness isn’t it?
Does he fit well in the lineup with Cade?

Ohhhhh, CLINT-man, my bad .

Yes to both. Problem is New Orleans’ asking price is a little bit higher than it should be.

Then again Desmond Bane got traded for freaking four first round draft picks this past offseason so maybe it’s not??

Imagine being a Magic fan @Blizer. Trading four firsts for Desmond Bane.

Do any of you guys think we could also pry away Herb Jones in a trade for Murphy?

I think he fits perfectly with Cade. They would be very fun to watch.

He’s also under contract for several years so this would be a true long term addition versus just a rental type.

Herb would be very good for us on the defensive end, but uhhh

38.2/30.4/82.4 shooting splits on 9/3/2 is…. ass lets be real

I don’t watch NBA much but I will offer this. IF you trade those 3 first round picks, what are they really worth? I would think if you add Giannis, those 3 picks will be post lottery picks. Doesn’t that get you potential depth pieces in that range in the NBA? Sorta like NFL 5th rounders?

I won’t pretend to say I will understand how the money could work, but this seems like a high reward, relatively low risk move IF he stays ā€˜mostly’ healthy for the next few years.

Do I have that wrong?

Very little imo. The chances of hitting on a guy that low in the draft are so low that I could care less about those picks.

From time to time you will see a superstar drafted late but it’s very rare.

Bane has been pretty good for us. You also have to realize the magic gave away kcp and Cole Anthony who had HORRIBLE contracts (we gave up a pick or two just to unload those contracts which most people don’t understand). Bane is also under contract for three more years.

The problem with the magic is we have the Lions curse. Our top 3 players have already missed 15 games A PIECE. Our starting lineup hasn’t even played 10 games together, maybe 6 they’ve played together.

For that amount of capital, who’s the better player…………..Murphy or MPJ?

Just looking at stats it seems MPJ.

Contract wise it’s definitely Murphy.

Would ā€œThe Rock Stops Hereā€ really be a good fit for the way our team plays? @Blizer. That’s my biggest concern with him.

I’m just thinking if we had to give away a Holland or someone like that in a Murphy deal, that it might make sense to try and get another plus plus defender back.

Murphy>mpj by a wide margin imo.
