I didn’t really mean to “comp” Freeling to Decker as a player…
just wanted to point out the size comparison.
I definitely agree that Freeling is a more natural athlete in space.

He is my favorite realistic option for us, I just don’t know how realistic he’ll be after today. I really think Cleveland at 6 will become the chalk place to mock him after today. Would Brad trade up to 5? With all of our needs? I have my doubts.
You’re just buying a more limited proof of concept than someone like Lewan when he was coming out.
I really think Sisi and Freeling are going very high. Top ten.
I think so too. I’ve thought so on Freeling since the moment I deep-dived him, and I’ve been 75% on Mauigoa not making it to us for a while now. I think that number is probably up to 80-85% now. Though I think top ten chances hasn’t changed.
A lot of AZ smoke with SiSi. Seems too high but in this draft whatever.
He’s 4th on my board. A lot of that is cause I think he’s a Zack Martin/Quenton Nelson level guard prospect, but combine that what what MIGHT be a pretty damn good RT as well and I think that guy has a ton of value.
I think he’d be a slam dunk for Arizona. Boring, yes, but they won’t care about that in a couple of years. I like him quite a bit better than I did Ickey Ekwonu, and I was decently high on him too.
Freeling with a 4.95 40. (4.93 on his second run)
Other times of note:
Fano, 4.91
Iheanachor, 4.91
Jalen Farmer, 4.93
Chase Bisontis, 5.03
Jager Burton, 4.96
Dametrious Crownover, 5.16 (great for his size)
In the form of a 312lb center?

George Foster(former Lion/Bulldog tackle) brought up a good point. If kid is at a program like Georgia then it’s not a guarantee they’ll get stronger in the league because they already have high resources to get stronger
4.94 on his 2nd run.
That’s generally true, but OL strength development is fairly predictable, even at big schools. Outside of the true monsters like Sewell, the vast majority of 20-21 year olds I’ve watched need to add strength, no matter where they play. If he had been in the program for longer I’d be more inclined to agree, but the fact that he’s coming out after 3 years has me believing he’s still got plenty of strength gains left in him.
These arms numbers all seem shorter to me than expected. Didn’t they change the way arms were measured recently.
Getting harder and harder to see Monroe Freeling falling to 17. That sucks.
I mean Markel Bell just had the 6th longest ever measured lol.
That is some sloppy bench work. Surprised they allowed hat. Not really a 26 rep guy if proper form is forced upon him. Still would have arrived at an impressive number and shows his work ethic but that’s stuff I see at the Y.
I always felt like it was sort of sloppy whenever I watched. Honestly I think it’s become more for spectacle than function too, so anything they can get by with to make more people pay attention. Like pretty much every other test.
Max had 34 1/2 inch arms at the Senior Bowl and now they are less than 34”. Even Bell has lost arm length since the Senior Bowl. I thought Freeling would have over 35” arms and he is under 35”. Its not the end of the world or anything, just think its strange.
