McShay pointing out that Sadiq ran the same 40 time as Gibbs. That is crazy…
Honestly, I suspect the combine is actually closest to the real measurement. The Senior Bowl is incentivized to please the players, to keep them accepting invited (especially now that the Shrine is coming on). Pro days are the same, the schools want their players to look good. There are also often multiple measurements (many teams bring their own guys), and the agents ensure that the longest numbers hit all the media outlets.
The combine is the only one that isn’t trying to make the player look good.
I’ve been saying this for months now. As soon as the combine ended. All he did was confirm what was on tape.
That said he’s only been OK in the drills. Part of that is due to being next to Fano, who has preternatural movement skills (his issues are in a phone booth), part of that is because his biggest issue - balance - can get exposed by some of these, especially if he’s moving too fast.
On the other hand, I’m kind of hoping everybody sours enough on Caleb Downs testing that he falls to us…one can dream…
No surprise in Fano’s testing, he moves like a freak in tape. His spot will come down to how comfortable a team is with his length. He’s a historical outlier for a tackle.
Also, he’s did a center workout after testing ended. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if that ended up being his long-term position
I guessing that you and DaftonDraft are closer to reality than Will Burchfield about Freeling’s draft range after these numbers: He won’t be available at #17.
So Imma ready to gamble on Iheanachor and light a candle for Decker in 2026.
Some notable 40 times from the second group:
Logan Jones, 4.91
Caleb Lomu, 5.00
Blake Miller, 5.04
Kadyn Proctor, 5.22
Keylan Rutledge, 5.06
Aamil Wagner, 5.02
I though Gibbs ran a 4.36 and Sadiq ran a 4.39. I’m always picking at nits…
So much for Proctor’s straight line speed…at least relative to normal size OTs. But maybe the 10 yards split was special?
Yeah ten yard is only thing that matters for him, and I expect it to be good. Any explosive testing he should really do well at. And 5.22 is still really damn fast for a guy his size.
Lomu is testing athletically well as i expected
if that 3 cone is good… just needs a year of strength and i think he could be him
Yeah the juice was never his problem, always been an issue of gaining strength for him. I hear the league is really all over the place on him.
Okay for nitpickers, what he actually said was they both hit 23.2mph on their 40…with Sadiq 40lbs heavier…![]()

I love Fano as a Center but not necessarily in 2026. But if he’s falling bc he can’t be an OT with those arms I’m interested. Not at 17 though. Could we trade back and then maybe add a Pocic type.
My one issue is I still like McLaughlin quite a bit. I’m not so sure that Seth plus someone in that Pocic vein isn’t enough.
The same is true with Miller at OT. Totally fine sliding back and then popping him to redshirt a year. I’m curious if there is a reason he hasn’t been at LT. The profile seems better there tbh.
Fano could also be a fantastic LG, so it’s not like he’s center or bust. His brain + movement skills are the reason C is an appealing option, and those would work at LG as well. Plus the outside shot at T.
Re: Miller, he’s a better prospect than Tristan Leigh, but the latter was still a very good college player. It could be like a Wirfs/Alaric Jackson situation where one guy was just so much better at one spot, so they did it to get the two best guys on the field.
Markel Bell is “high cut and leggy”.
Just had to throw that in there. I was watching some video compilations and seen OL #04 and thought to myself “oh hell no!”. THEN I turn on the audio and hear about his height and wingspan. Brodric Martin v2. (Yes, I realize one is an OT and the other a DT, but still… they share a unique build that doesn’t suit the NFL.)
Anyhow, couldn’t help but recall Zierlein’s description of Martin when I seen Bell.
Fano won’t be available at 17.
