There definitely are a few who would gladly trade it all in for one super bowl win. I’m not one of those guys, but they do exist. Give me the playoffs every year with a shot at making a run every year. The playoffs are a crap shoot.

This despite the ability to produce a list of the many, many teams who went all-in and didn’t win a Super Bowl. Facts just don’t matter.

I might be one if you could guarantee it, but you can’t. In fact the odds don’t seem to get any better, judging historically.

Well, that’s just it. It’s never a guarantee. You can do everything right and still have a singular bad game in the playoffs and you’re going home just like 31 other teams.

I think that also gives you much better odds of actually winning a Super Bowl than going all-in.

Same. Which is why I’d much rather build for sustainable, long-term success (success being division titles and playoff appearances) with the shot at hopefully being healthy enough to do damage.

I doubt we hear anything from the lions today

Right, which is actually also the problem with giving up so much for an elite player. Everything can go right and then they get hurt. Sometimes it screws you going forward, like Indy and Sauce. Sometimes it just ruins your season, like GB. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t entertain the idea of trading for elite players - I actually prefer it to signing someone for a lot of money in FA - but it has to be done very judiciously. Thankfully, I think we have a GM who knows that.

The key would be not to feed the Lion for 3 days before the game. :joy:

Also good luck to Fraley teaching the Lion how to snap a football.

This would be Fraley after the 1st practice.

Atlanta is a glutton for punishment when it comes to injured QBs

Lol!!

Although I guess it makes sense if they want to keep their system ready for a lefty with/without Penix.

I feel the same way. But, I would like them to address glaring holes. I believe we had a few last year that didn’t get addressed and it cost us.

I will say one thing I strongly feel about the playoffs, you can get there with an elite offense and below average defense, but once the playoffs start, you need at least an above average defense.

Sounds like Alec Pearce may end the week with a higher AAV that St.

100% agree.

The Marcus Davenport experiment for two years was absurd. So was counting on Graham last year in my opinion

But there’s a lot of good football players in between Davenport and trading 2 1sts for Maxx or Parsons

Yeah just saw that. There’s a solution for us. Though apparently he took a step back in 2025. Though for Williams that just means from best player at his position to really good player.
