OK, so how does Sutton affect the draft?

I know this is being discussed in a few other threads, but merits its own.

My son immediately texted me with, “Great news, my Eagles can take Gonzalez now.”

I thought that was an overreaction.

I know the Lions have some options at their disposal now, but given how bad the secondary was, they could’ve been planning to take a leader like Sutton to pair him with someone like Gonzalez at No. 6.

Depends on who is available when they pick, but I do think they go a different direction at 6 if that wasn’t already the plan.
I still think with Holmes it is the lines. Then 18 could be WR/RB or a DB

We are for sure still adding a corner early in the draft, might not be round 1, but day 2 at the latest IMO

I think Brad means it when he says BPA.

He doesn’t effect much. Free agency is about insurance. It’s so that we don’t have to reach for need.

I believe the Lions can go whatever direction they want too. Since any rookie CB will probably seat this season anyway.

Though from what i hear Gonzalez is not a culture fit, too lay back no dog in him. Though i hear Spoon is dropping to Deadman land of 10 to 15. So not sure if Porter or Banks are considered to be worth 6 . So no clue who the Lions might look at there.

It doesn’t.

Holmes will go back to the trenches whether it’s Carter, Tyree Wilson, or Skoronski.

That’s always been my opinion

I love the idea of keep stocking the trenches. We got 5 picks in the first 3rd rounds. We are in great shape to add talent all across the team.

Spoon and Gonzalez are options at 18 not at 6

Anything else is over drafting a position of need

Let Philly have him at 10.
Means Bijan drops to 18

How about Nolan Smith from Georgia ?

I got him going to Atlanta. What do you think?

It opens the door for Skoronski.

I think it gives us flexibility. We still need a CB, but we may be alright grabbing a guy In the 2nd or at 18.

Best Punter Available!! Fox will not like this.

Well it’s getting pretty tiring hearing @CuriousHusker and @Thats2 love for Siaki Ika at 6.

It’s a deep draft at CB. Not sure I’d take one at 6 if Carter, Anderson, or Wilson is there.

In my scenario, Carter and Anderson are off the board. But if it’s between Wilson and Gonzalez, I go Gonzalez. Entering camp with the secondary as a strength—and that’s what that would do—could never be a bad thing.

I think we’re going to take whoever the top player on our board is. We’ve allowed ourselves to not be forced into corner because of need.

I think that’s how we’ll approach 18 as well. Not drafting for need. Just get the best football player and eventually you’ll have a good team.

I could live with that lol.
