I know this is being discussed in a few other threads, but merits its own.
My son immediately texted me with, “Great news, my Eagles can take Gonzalez now.”
I thought that was an overreaction.
I know the Lions have some options at their disposal now, but given how bad the secondary was, they could’ve been planning to take a leader like Sutton to pair him with someone like Gonzalez at No. 6.
Depends on who is available when they pick, but I do think they go a different direction at 6 if that wasn’t already the plan.
I still think with Holmes it is the lines. Then 18 could be WR/RB or a DB
I believe the Lions can go whatever direction they want too. Since any rookie CB will probably seat this season anyway.
Though from what i hear Gonzalez is not a culture fit, too lay back no dog in him. Though i hear Spoon is dropping to Deadman land of 10 to 15. So not sure if Porter or Banks are considered to be worth 6 . So no clue who the Lions might look at there.
In my scenario, Carter and Anderson are off the board. But if it’s between Wilson and Gonzalez, I go Gonzalez. Entering camp with the secondary as a strength—and that’s what that would do—could never be a bad thing.
