Goff balled out. 4 TDs. Almost 70% completions and over 8 YPA. 130 QBR
Week 5 Branch comes back to play SS/nickle. We trade for Porter and this team is going to win a lot of games

Wish I shared your optimism right now brother. This defensive coaching staff is going to sink this season. Hope I’m very very wrong but the defense is only getting worse with the more film each team gets on Shepard.
I will say I have much more confidence in the offense. I saw good things when Goff actually had protection.
Honestly, the bright side is that we have a good schedule. Just get into the playoffs. Who knows. Maybe Branch / Kerby will be back by then.
In 2023 we got completely embarrased by the Baltimore Ravens, 38-6, early in the season. At that time nobody would have convinced me that we were a good team.
We went on to win two playoff games that year and really should have won a third.
We looked like shit last night but its just one game.
At the time, you were an impressionable middle schooler. I could have convinced you of anything.
It reminds me of a qb we traded to rams . Of course he was going to have good numbers down 21-0. But let’s not forget the lions put their selfs in bad spot with the offense. Def might be the worse ive ever. Lions need a fast start vs the jets on both sides of the ball

it seems like every team has two or three pass catching tightends we have one with sore back and two blocking TEs who can’t block
I’m not jumping off a bridge over losing to the Bills. We had a bad first quarter, and after that we played as well as they did. Right now we are dog dodo and they are super bowl material.
The defense will get better. Our offense showed last night they can hang with anyone, and we aren’t playing very many top 5 teams.
Yes, and it is one game vs the best QB in the league. We aren’t facing that again this season unless we make it to the bowl.
LaPorta played great, and had some real nice catches.
I don’t panic till week 5. It’s so early and teams aren’t gelled yet. We don’t know who is who and who stinks.
I’m nervous about defense and have been prior to season but I’ll really be panicking if we haven’t fixed these issues after week 5.
Ummm, you sure about that? The Jets and Geno Smith (ya’ know, the guy that has come in and looked like Tom Brady the last 2 times at FF) are not easy. Carolina’s offense will score on us and we are not Chicago’s offense right now. And Arizona has a plethora of talent of the offensive side of the ball. Not sure I’d call any of the next 3 games a good schedule.
My optimism stems from Miller’s game one performance and that he will return for next game, we played an overtime game followed by another game in four days and there were clear blown coverages that can be addressed.
It’s the NFL. There is no easy schedule. But relative to the various permutations that is a pretty soft three opponents.
The difference is that the 2023 team was on a clear upward trajectory so that was just one blip on the radar. This is a team that regressed last season and struggled last week so it’s just a continuation of an ongoing pattern. Plus that 2023 team was healthy and had a more balanced lineup.
I don’t know if there were bright sides
But I’ll defend the Lions a little. It looked to me that last night they played the best team the NFL has seen the over the last few years. They won’t face a team that tough the rest of the year
Watch Houston bounce back this weekend
There was a play in the 3rd quarter it was one of the safeties and he kept acting like he was gonna blitz then stop then blitz then stop then blitz then stop all before the play started and play happens and he blitzes and gets stuffed and easy completion
edit it may not have been the 3rd quarter
I’d like to see a reimagined My Cousin Vinny starring Dan Campbell called My Buddy Shep.
