It is kind of ironic how the Rams can rightfully be put above the Lions and everyone thought that was a short term deal for the Rams along with all of their other moves. The people that thought Stafford was done are the same people who think he was great at the start of his career. And neither of those are true. He might be playing his best ball of his career right now. Stafford was at like 30 pick 6s and within 2 of Favre for all time like 3/4 seasons ago. And he’s still at 30 now. He has changed a lot over the years.
I think Goff would be the first to admit when he has a bad game. The awesome thing is the dude has played well enough over the last few years here to set that bar high.
It’s too bad the refs took away an opportunity for him to engineer a game tying drive last week. Every QB who has had a bad game is going to want that moment to redeem themself.
But let’s not overreact. He’s playing with a new OC who just had his playcalling stripped of him, a hurt LT, a journeyman C a rookie RG and basically a rookie LG
It’s not just Goff who is going to struggle under these kind of changes. All QBs will. But we do know a few things. But we also have seen how resilient he is. As is this team. As is this organization
We’re going to have bad games. But we’re also real contenders and we’ve never been able to say that before. Of course we can win a SB with Goff And we will
Probably still are…this INT does not end the game. And the reason Matt Stafford is elite is because very few have been as good at the end of games. The haters love to point to this moment. I mean isn’t it the argument that Matt joined a SB loaded team? So wouldn’t it make sense to believe the defense would’ve held and got the ball back? Why is it the assumption that the game ends on this INT? Oh because it doesn’t fit the narrative…got it. It’s not like there wasn’t still TEN minutes left in a 3 point game…
One thing, I wouldn’t want to change anyone, just because you point out mistake or things that can be better. Doesn’t mean you want that kind of change.
We need some tweeks not whole sale changes.
Goff is plenty Good enough and the players respect and love him.
Dan is Dan leader of men that players will follow, and play there ass off for. That might be the most important part of the Job.
Holmes is a great evaluator of talent , and has put together some very competitive rosters.
To much good here to want change like that , we just need some tweeks and we will be back to were we where.
Jared Goff playoff game record 5-5
Matthew Stafford playoff record 5-5
After the amazing 2022 Superbowl run (which Matt was not the MVP of), the Rams are 1-2 in the playoffs and lost to the Lions.
Stafford is playing great right now and we’ve seen this before from Matt (and Goff for that matter) where they’re being mentioned as MVP candidates…and then they flutter back down earth, it just happened with Baker Mayfield this year and Josh Allen kind-of too.
If Stafford keeps up his play, he’ll probably win MVP and quite possibly the Rams win the Superbowl.
Well, you’re absolutely right here. How can the Lions lost a trade the player was demanding? Only if the value isn’t right. But that was definitely not the case, and the picks were even used well.
