As far as Tray Lance comparison the team moved up for a QB that had a season were he threw for 67 % completions and 28 TDs to 0 ints before injury his next year. That was the selling point, Richardson does have anything like that on his resume.
Where you playing Anderson? Not joking where does he play I mean the number 3 pick has to play every down
I think he is what they wanted Houston to play but he needs to learn when to rush . You need IMO have the mind set of a rush end but also a Run stopping LB an know when to rush or defend not easy task.
Would Richardson or Levis play every down?
If we wat I hope its Wilson if we move to 3 I hope its Wilson . But with Romeo an Harris redoing deals not sure we take a edge.
I wouldn’t be shocked if Holmes picks a player we are not talking about.
Holmes doesn’t seem to follow the talking heads ideas he depends on his staff scouts an HC opinions an then HC an him decide.
Welp… in a no trade down situation, here is what I was forced to do. Wilson was there, but I looked at this from last year:
Add Romeo, Houston and Paschel to the final 53 EDGE party and even moving some things around a bit position wise, we are very EDGE heavy. If we move Cominsky to the interior DL position group for say Taylor, we still have: Hutch/Romeo/Harris/Houston/Paschel with JOk out. So with Wilson there, do I cut Harris for him? I see it as an “I almost did it” option. Instead I took the best guy I could that I thought could be a nasty RG worthy of a top 10 pick and position versatile. That was Johnson for me. The rest fell as follow:
I think Sidy Sow would be a good pick in the 6th rd if he was there.
I’d be shocked if Paris Johnson goes top 10. He’s not that much of a “can’t miss” or even an “elite ceiling” type of OT to me. He got a lot of hype, but the film doesn’t match the hype.
I think Broderick Jones will be the first offensive lineman drafted. I think as we get closer to the draft you will hear Oh he’s moving up. he is not moving up he is already the best true LT in this draft and will be a top ten pick… Johnson will be the next LT and he is very good. Skoronski will be drafted as a G and I hope it’s by us at 18.
I’d definitely be “butt hurt” if we traded up to 3 and gave up our premium draft picks to do it. And then to take a QB that we dont need. Shoot, I’d be “double butt hurt”.
Trade up to pick Anderson, I’d be pissed.
Trade up to pick Carter, I’d be fuming.
Trade up to pick a QB, I’d be completely beside myself.
Basically there is nobody in this draft that should want us to trade up to 3 and give up both our second rd picks, let alone 18.
The most intriguing thing is the mention of trading up and then trading back down.
But other than that, oh hell no, IMO.
208 318 65.4 2947 9.3 30 1 173.8
215 393 54.7 3105 7.9 24 15 133.6
Comparing career stats. Lance threw 75 fewer passes than AR but completed only 7 less. Over 10% difference in completion percentage. His YPA was 1.4 longer, he threw 6 more TD’s in those fewer passes and only 1 INT vs 15.
Barely played ?? I think that comparison has been “debunked”.
Lance = better QB prospect
If you prefer a QB that runs around, misses wide open receivers, throws a lot of picks and loses a lot of games…then AR is your answer. He will make some ESPN top 10 moments as well. Your team will probably sell a TON of jerseys. The hype will keep him going for a bit but eventually it comes down to he’s a subpar QB. Bad college QB’s generally fail in the NFL. Good college QB’s generally fail in the NFL. It’s only the few rare good college QB’s that actually make it at the NFL level.
Well there are no can’t miss guys left at 6 (maybe Spoon). It’s basically Skoronski or Johnson as guys who “could” convert to OG and backup swing tackle and be worth a top 10 pick. I’ll admit I haven’t spent time pouring over either of these guys, but I’m seeing more pure power and movement of his man, out of Johnson. I don’t want to draft a RG at 6. But we have to cut Romeo or Harris IMO to fit a 6OA EDGE and that’s assuming JOK is out too. I’m not opposed to that, and that very well be the way we go. As I said, I nearly just took Wilson in this scenario. It just seems like with FA and the way we are currently built, that the talent at the top of the draft doesn’t line up well at all for our needs.
So do you reach (for either OT to make him our RG) and get a big upgrade from Glasgow, (if that is what you are getting), or a slight upgrade from Romeo/Harris who will likely be semi-rotational? We could still go CB, with Mosely on a one year deal but again at a position with an embarrassment of riches.
Apparently someone in the anonymous scout world said of Skoronski, he’s a pro bowl OG and an average tackle in the NFL. If he’s that and we are stuck at 6, I may lean into that a little more than I would have last week.
