I didn’t say he was a ‘bust’. he is an elite speed wr that has major issues catching the deep passes he was drafted for.
Im not sure Jamo doesn’t still go 11 in a redraft
That’s why I don’t think you can say he was overdrated
He’s still going top 15 in a redraft even with hindsight
If he didn’t have this one issue he would be Tyreek Hill. Sorry every player can’t be a HOFer.
Goff also isn’t the ideal QB for him either.
I was replying to the argument of production and value
It is clear that his production did not justify his draft position and that he is not considered as valuable as WR in his peer group.
WR yardage isn’t everything. He has a huge advantage playing in this offense. He should be getting a lot of yards.
And this isn’t me hating him despite what you wrote. He’s a good, not great player, who has too many ups and downs to be considered anywhere close to elite
That’s why a defensive end should have been drafted two years ago. Holmes is always a dollar short, and a day late.
I can make the argument he would be more productive on several other teams.
As much as he benefits from playing with so many great weapons, it also hurts him as he has so few opportunities. This goes both ways.
And season 1 was always a redshirt year. Including that in any kind of accumulative production is extremely misleading.
What’s funny is we already saw this coming and discussed it a few years ago. Drafting well and being a good football team means there is less opportunity for draft picks to get on the field. Teslaa would have started as a rookie in Brad’s first few years. If we drafted another Derrick Barnes, we wouldn’t even know it. That slow development he received wouldn’t crack the lineup with the current team. Look at the positions where the top of the lineup is already set.
QB - Our starter is locked in.
RB - Our starter is locked in.
WR - Our starters are locked in and we have a 3rd that is playing 70% of the snaps.
TE - Our starter is locked in.
LT - Our starter is locked in.
LG - Our starter looks like he will be locked in.
C - OPEN / TBD
RG - Our starter has a chance to be locked in.
RT - Our starter is locked in.
DE1 - Our starter is locked in.
DT1 - Our starter is locked in.
DT2 - Our starter is locked in.
DE2 - OPEN / TBD
MLB - Our starter is locked in.
OLB1 - Our starter is locked in.
OLB2 - OPEN / TBD
The secondary is where opportunity shows up. One of Brad’s 2026 draft picks has stepped into a starting role.
We are no longer a playoff team.
That is always the argument and it is a bad argument. His overall production absolutely matters. Drafting a guy who wouldn’t play his first year heightens the need for him to be exceptional in subsequent years
Yeah, no. He has a hard time getting open even with other teams accounting for all the others.
You can make the playoffs and not be a playoff team and vice versa.
Like the Panthers played a playoff game but weren’t a playoff team.
This group probably makes the playoffs but arent a playoff team
This is completely false.
Also, didn’t he raise his production to a level that makes him worth his selection the last 2 years. 13th in receiving yards and probably at least that high in touchdowns as well.
How good is he supposed to be to warrant getting picked 12th?
I’m a Jamo fan but generally speaking I don’t like taking WRs in the first rd. For every Calvin Johnson, there’s lots of Charles rogers, Roy Williams, Mike Williams, Jamo…
Wait haven’t we learned this lesson yet from the 2000s??? Didn’t the Raiders do the same stuff?? Hayward Bey anyone?
Jamo is solid, above average, good! and stretches the field for sure. 12th overall? I dunno man..
Says who? We lost on the road during a short week at the beginning of the season to one of the top two or three teams in the AFC when they were opening their new stadium. Not sure there are many teams who could’ve beat the Bills last night. We’ve looked like shit so far, no doubt, but this is a playoff team.
I would go through and list the 1st rd WRs on every team but I really don’t want to waste the time.
1st round is absolutely a good time to go WR. The hit rate is pretty damn high.
You can’t say Jamo or any other player was overdrafted unless you can find the equivalent number of players betters than him taken in a draft.
Are there 12 players from 2022 definitely better than him taken in that draft with hindsight.
If they make it this year, then they will have made the playoffs three out of the last four years. And just missed out making it four out of five last year due to a rash of injuries. Hell, if Baker Mayfield didn’t screw us over in 2022, we could be talking about a five year playoff run. This is a playoff team.
That’s fair, I’m just speaking from a scarred and biased perspective. I’m sure there’s good ones too. I didn’t look
I was just stating a fact. We did not make the playoffs last year and we finished last in our own division.
I’m just saying that injuries played a huge role in us missing the playoff last year. I still count last year as a playoff team that had horrific luck.
Haha no worries. I find the Jamo bashing to be unbearable. Like this team has been a top 5 offensive team since 2022. Jamo is 13th in receiving yards the last 2 years. Complaining about the offensive skill positions is so dumb to me. They aren’t the issue whatsoever. Probably one of the best 10 units over a 3+ year stretch of all time. And people want to complain about what…our WR2 producing better than 2/3rds of other teams #1s? Unbelievable.
The other side of the ball is what keeps this team from being a SB contender.
