Good lord no.
Totally unqualified
Would be like hiring Matt Millen to be GM

Come here Pat. I just wanna talk.

I like Dan as an analyst who can diagnose plays on Monday after they’ve taken place and failed on Sunday.
But that don’t mean he can call plays on Sunday.
He can teach endzone footwork
He is high IQ and a student of the game. He had like a 13 year NFL career and was horrible. He stuck around because he was like having another coach on team.
Would love this hire but it won’t happen
Not a good fit from the stand point of coming in cold
He would need to be on staff first I would think
But I literally have zero shits to give about who it is as they perform.
For me I do not like him because of zero experience in being an OC and/or calling plays
Outside the box way of choosing a coordinator would be give him some background information and have him come up with an elaborate story in which every few minutes you toss him curveballs to see how quickly, or if they are even capable of adapting on the fly.
Having no previous OC experience is not a deal breaker. But having a general idea of how the game works, being creative, and being able to make adjustments on the fly are far more important.
Now head coach on the other hand is completely different qualifications.
You know who would be a good out of the box hire at OC for us? Jared Goff. Bring back the days of the player-coach!
McAfee just blowing kisses to a fellow ESPN buddy.
I find McAfee entertaining but I don’t really hold any opinion of his in high regard. Kind of like Stephen A Smith.
Kinda surprised mark brunell hasnt been talked about for o cord.
■■■■ you, Macafee!
Who hurt you?
As in… sorry to hear that traumatic brain injury has completely disrupted any rational thought processes.

He and not Dan is an actual meathead.
I wondered this earlier today too. I think Goff would make a fine offensive coordinator one day, why not let him try designing and calling plays in a preseason game to start.
