Matt Patricia: will never have a 7 win season like Rod Marinelli.

And Dallas is the best team in the NFC :joy:

Let’s see what happens in playoffs

Well, they’ve lost to all but one team above 500 they’ve played, so I’d say it’ll be more of the same :+1:

Cool. Let’s see how it plays out.

At some point we can hope that it finally sinks in that it’s a foregone conclusion. He’s staying for 2020. Good, bad, or ugly, it’s just the way it is. And we didn’t need an article from unknown “league sources” to know he isn’t going anywhere this off season. Nothing against the OP, but rather SI putting out an article about something that 99% of us already knew.

Thank goodness for Dallas that they play in the miserable NFC East this year otherwise they wouldn’t even be in the playoffs

Lions lost to the 1 win Washington Redskins. They do play in that division, though and will most likely be making the playoffs. If the Pats didn’t have Bill Belichick they wouldn’t even be a contender. See how easy this is?

I’d just rather not make sweeping changes only to make sweeping changes and have that change be to a career .500 guy during the regular season and career post season failure. Despite how involved one may believe Patricia was or wasn’t, he was the DC of several SB teams and Quinn was in those front offices. Bevell OC’d a couple SB teams. If I’m going to move from that, I’d like a guaranteed better option on the platter and Marvin Lewis ain’t it IMHO.

Exactly. You just confirmed my point LOL

I have no problem with that, after all, I wasn’t the one making sweeping statements that you couldn’t possibly know with any certainty… Just like the 7 win proclamation you just made or like your Mike Glennon, Johnny Manziel or my personal favorite “bet your house” NBA finals proclamation… I’d stay away from absolute statements if I was you.

I don’t expect much of a culture change with this franchise until there is a new owner. I know it’s cliche, but it does start at the top. Today I would fire Quinn and make my new hire before the season ends so that person can evaluate Patricia. Quinn has reached in the draft and sought mostly Patriots and hurt Packers in FA, which tells me he isn’t doing his homework. I simply don’t trust Quinn with our 2020 draft and FA capital. I’m leaning towards Patricia not working out, but still trying to keep an open mind. One of the problems I have with Patricia is he isn’t flexible and only sees one way to win. Dozens of different styles have been used to win championships, and those that work are usually when strategy and talent are aligned. Patricia seems hell bent on forcing his style, and that could work, if he ever gets the right players…I’m more interested in a coach that creates a game plan around their current talent/roster, sort of like our OC has doing with the constant changes in his cupboard.

Cool. I’m sure you’ve made predictions that were wrong before… only difference is I don’t care or care enough to bring it up in every other post. BTW Mike Mayock and Gruden both said at the time they would take Manziel #1 OA that year if they were Houston. An NFL team gave Mike Glennon a big contract. So yeah… not that far off and I never thought Glennon was a great QB anyways only serviceable.

Very strange that you feel the need to bring stuff up from years ago. Let it go.

I am .03% certain beyond a doubt that the percentages used against BQ are 43.2397456 wrong.

Somewhere in my garage, I have solid supporting data!!

Marvin Lewis took over a tire fire and brought them to respectability. That’s not easy to do.

What will it take for you to admit that Patricia is a failure as HC? 0-16? You literally can’t do a much worse job than Patricia has done at HC. What does he do well? You can’t point to a single thing. Patricia last year in NE defense was 31st in the league in yards per play. He leaves and they become historically great within 1.5 years. He comes to Detroit and the defense gets progressively worse. He is not even here to be a DC anyways… he is here to be the leader of this franchise and he has ZERO leadership qualities. It’s pathetic. He’s the HC of an NFL team not a garbage man. His clock management is a joke, he’s lost the locker room and alienated the players. The odds that your hire will be worse than Patricia are minuscule and 80% of retread coach are a guaranteed upgrade.

I make predictions, you make statements with certainty with no basis other than opinion… THAT’S the difference… I bring up your horrible string of poor prophecies when you make more of them.

Of course he is. 9-7 is unacceptable. 3-12-1 is juuuuuuuuuuuuuuuust right

Btw, the fact that the dynamic duo that signed Antonio Brown long term and drafted Ferrell @ 4 OA said they would’ve taken Manziel #1 says it all. And that “big contract” for Glennon is from the team that thought it was also a good idea to trade 2 3rds and a 4th for Turbisky with Mahomes and Watson sitting on the board. How did that contract play out? Didn’t even last a year… Yep, solid scouting from that team.
