Penix vs Nix on now

Odunze won’t be there when we pick. He ran 10.6 in HS. He’s 6’3" and nearly 220. He’s going very, very high IMO.

I love, love, love Troy Franklin. But Odunze is a better prospect. Both were awesome though.

Washington passed one up as well. Two aggressive coaches.

Oregon passed up two FGs
They lost by a FG

I knew that was coming. Bc clearly the butterfly effect doesn’t apply to football.

The game flow changes if any of those field goals are made. It’s impossible to say what happens.

I think more people are upset that Lanning didn’t punt with two minutes left.

It made for a very entertaining game. Was it good strategy? Hell no, but as someone with no horse in the race I just enjoyed the drama.

Actually it doesn’t change at all. They
don’t get a FG with time expiring before half when you getting the ball back to start 2nd half.

3pts. No game flow

The other one they were down a TD and FG in the 2nd half.

Washington went for it when they were down 4. In the 4th Qtr

I agree with you @CuriousHusker on many things when it comes to player evaluations. We would do fine if we worked together in a scouting dept.

But as far as game management, good thing we aren’t on the same coaching staff broski

You must love Brandon Staley

All I know is this tweet wins the day: https://twitter.com/MikMcDaniel/status/1713295231842701312?ref_src=twsrc^tfw|twcamp^tweetembed|twterm^1713295231842701312|twgr^1ca8c40fd5ee470649893a67961412ec44411ced|twcon^s1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2F247sports.com%2Fcollege%2Foregon%2Flongformarticle%2Foregon-ducks-football-social-media-reactions-washington-huskies-football-218078475%2F

I don’t love Brandon Staley. Well I do love that he’s employed bc it’s entertaining as hell but aside from that I’m not a fan of his coaching. But this is not going for it on your own 22. This is at the 8 and the 3 with 3 yards to go in each case. I can guarantee you that the analytics would suggest that Lanning made the correct call. Whether the analytics should be trusted or not? :man_shrugging: Also, important to note that he was up against arguably one of the five best college offenses of the last five years. He thought settling for field goals was a losing strategy. Hardly an illogical stance.

I’m not even defending the decisions. I’m just suggesting that it’s a wee bit asinine to imply that had Oregon taken a field goal with 55 seconds before half and/or 7:01 left in the 3rd quarter that surely the game would have proceeded identically. That’s generally not how realities work. Action leads to reaction.

I think they are both #2’s in a usual draft but are 2-7 in this one. Tells you how good the WR’s are. Franklins catch was the highlight of the day though, getting the elbow down was an NFL first down on a mediocre ball. I think both QB’s helped themselves. Penix took hits he hasn’t since Indiana and he stood in. Nix went 33/44 and his completion % dropped?!?

I bet Oregon coach wishes he took that FG before half.

That play call on 4th and goal before half was trash too

If I was an Oregon fan I’d ask why you didn’t run on 3rd knowing you have a timeout?

I didn’t like that call either but I like their OC. He’s going to be a star offensive coach IMO.

Maybe he regrets it. IMO if he regrets anything it’s the lack of aggression on the final drive. Franklin was feasting. Push it!

The other question for their OC is that both their TE’s were obviously a huge issue for Washington but they didn’t go there more. Herbert’s brother there was a problem and the better one that faked the injury was a bigger problem. Fail there. Both those two are NFL guys though. I always thought Herbert could be an NFL TE and his brother seems to be proving it.

Crazy how it plays out. If they get it, they are geniuses.

If you don’t. And you lose by a FG…

Well, that’s the game we play!

I remember Mahomes playing Cincy the year Cincy went to SB and just before half he made a crucial error and they didn’t get points. I think KC was up 21-3 at that time.

That has stuck with me ever since.

Take the pts before half and go regroup. Get the ball 2nd half

This is a great game Pdono. Thanks for suggesting it.
You bet Pdono. Its a close one.

I really want Air Force to make the ny6 but I think Wyoming is the best team in that league.

I’m watching Miami UNC

Air Force ran the ball 60 times and passed the ball 9 lol

@Pdono loves the old school

That AF starting QB is a stud. He got injured, but man, is he ever a dangerous runner.
