They would win that SOV tiebreaker today, but maybe not when all plays out. Its too early to tell who would win that tiebreaker, but the Eagles have a seven game lead over us at the moment. Sounds bad but its not, here’s why:
Eagles strength of wins - 55-65. Lions strength of wins - 48-72. excluding common opponents (it doesn’t matter if you do or don’t exclude them).
If we beat the Cowboys and lose to the Vikings, our SOV of 48-72 becomes 58-78 adding in the Cowboys 10-6 record. If the Eagles beat the Cards and lose to the Giants thier 55-65 SOV also becomes 58-78 adding in the Cardinals 3-13 record.
Both at 58-78 – Tie.
So it would depend on how our unique wins (Atlanta, Green Bay, Carolina, LV, LAC, Chicago, NO, Denver) finish up versus their unique wins (New England, Washington x 2, LAR, Miami, Buffalo, AZ, NYG
What I don’t know for sure is if you beat a team twice, do you count their record twice? Eagles beat the Redskins twice who have a 4-11 record. I’m assuming that the official tie breaker procedures would count their record twice - one for each win.
