I think we are better off at CB3-5 than we are CB1 and CB2. Our outside CB situation is flat terrible and I include Okudah in that. If we nabbed two outside capable guys who’s talent can mask youth and inexperience, then Okudah can become what Harris was for us as he’s physical enough. I do like Lucas as well, but you don’t pass on guys like Gonzo and Spoon because you have a 7th rounder with upside. If you go get Payne in FA, and can get a high extra bean via trade down from 6, then it makes this move a lot easier to do.

@Thats2 or @CuriousHusker or @3rdRGR What do you guys know about Dorian Williams. He always seems to be there in the third fourth round around where Brad might at least start thinking about off ball LB. Can he cover?

He’s got the athleticism for it, I expect him to test well, but as @Air2theThrown pointed out he’s often a step slow to process what he sees. When he trusts his eyes and fires he can make plays all over the field, including in coverage. When he doesn’t he can look lost.
I’m warming up to Sewell in the 3rd. I saw him in some Gonzales tape and he looked just awful. Looked at some 21’ tape though and he was pretty damn good against the run. Big boom/bust. With his brother I’d count on boom. We might be his best option.
I haven’t been looking at the later round guys much because I’m hunting for a starter, but the two I’m looking at higher up are pretty much the consensus top two guys Simpson and Sanders. Love both of those guys. Simpson’s trigger is instantaneous. In a big man’s conference, he moves around like he’s in another gear. He’s the best of a sort of lackluster class, so he may go higher than I think if a team has that glaring need. But I’d be really happy if we made him a Lion.
Sanders is a stud too that’s a 3 down guy but may fall into the top of the 2nd round. This is why I’m so down with trading down from 6, because I’m assuming both Anderson and Carter go. If we can add another pick between 18 and our 2B, then maybe you go ahead and drop 18 on Simpson, or our 2A or B on Sanders.
Rodrigo, Simpson and and year 3 Barnes and all of the sudden a major weakness for years doesn’t look too shabby. Campbell is sort of the next guy that is probably a DC guy that goes in round 2. A guy a little later with some potential I think is Overshown from A&M. Doesn’t have much time as an off ball guy, but seems to have that trigger like Rodriguez has and a natural coverbacker. Not a lot of sand in the britches though at like 220lbs.

Thanks, I like Overshown as well. Another good coverage guy - a former safety like Fred Warner. I was looking at late day 2, early day 3 guys, because I’ve given up on this regime drafting a LB early! I think the top guys you mention will be long gone before Brad addresses LB…passing on Bolton still stings when we had a desperate need then. A trade down from six sure would be nice, having three round 2 picks might put the LB’s you mention or OG in play there. Thx!
