Whoo boy (@CuriousHusker). 3-cone is huge for edge rushers. I have FAU as the #12 overall player on my board, so you can say I’m thrilled by this
OK… I have a little trip down memory lane…
In high school, I played RB. On the last play of a morning practice… I ran a wheel route, and as I turned upfield and looked back towards the QB…. I quickly realized the ball was thrown WELL out in front of me. I actually turned back around and sprinted without looking at ball for probably 5-6 strides… purely estimating where the ball might land… and then looked over my shoulder to spot the ball at the last moment.
I still had to lay out… complete full extension… and the ball landed in my outstretched hands.
I brought it in to my body… tucked my shoulder…
and did a somersault as I landed. It was awesome!
Unfortunately… it was practice… and I never had any kind of play like that in a game… but it was still a fun memory.
I’ve always loved him. As you know I’m big on see ball, get ball and his knack for the strip sack is rare. There’s plenty more there of course but that’s one aspect of his game that I don’t think comes around that often to that extent. He’s Avril like with his instinct for stripping the QB.

I think you pegged why he’s not attracting so much attention, especially his route running. Are there pro day results for his 3 cone and shuttle? Most of what I’ve seen of him is just linear routes with little bend and he’s beating guys with speed only.
He is, and on top of that his motor’s fantastic, and his array of moves is outstanding. He needs to be more disciplined of course but to me that’s very teachable. Give me the stuff you can’t teach.
Above average numbers, looks like, but I agree they don’t necessarily show on his tape. Though it’s not like he got many chances to show it either.
I understand.
I still remember a catch on a relative’s farm kind of like yours which I somehow nabbed despite running the last few feet down a hill. Hell, I can still vividly remember and feel 2 interceptions and a scooped fumble recovery from junior high. I didn’t play beyond that and instead ran cross country in the fall at high school. My joints are still largely intact, so that was probably a good thing.
Perry is one of my faves!
I see Marvin Harrison and I think it’s a good comp to be honest.
I like Addison and I think he’d be an awesome addition to our group.
Florida State 40 times
Even he was 6’, 181, but that’s closer than a lot of other size comps.
I knew he was the sort of guy you would like too, you definitely have a type lol. You love the smooth moving route runners. I just think he’s so slight he’s gonna get his ass kicked. Plus, like @CuriousHusker said, he was in the most advanced offensive schemes in college football. We’ll see how well he gets open in the pros.
I think he’s slot only, and while I think he could be pretty good there, that will push him down the board. Especially at his weight and with his 40.
Generally speaking I don’t find 4.3 flat-ish guys to be all that refined coming out of college.
Hmmm, he might feel kinda left out.
For Addison I can see the comp with Harrison but the older version of Harrison which is still very good. Coming out of Syracuse I think he ran under 4.4 but I don’t think he ran at the combine. Addison just runs really crisp routes and creates separation.
I think Trey Palmer has a pretty high upside…
and considering the Saints background with MCDC…
plus… both play at LSU…
makes me wonder if Devery Henderson is the floor?
Really good comp, actually…
