Oh , I went to Birch Run…
the natural one is in Lansing, as we speak. I often will be in Saginaw on weekends. Some of you cats will be seeing me soon!
But Project Hail Mary is a masterpiece. It is the greatest movie I’ve ever watched, and it’s not really close.

As a big fan of the book, my opinion is biased. But my wife has not read it and she said it was a top ten movie ever.
It’s good ! I’d watch it a few more times, yet I found the ending kind of odd. they could have ended it a dozen different ways
Doug Flutie lives here - right in Melbourne Beach, FL. I’ve seen him at a breakfast spot. Really really good guy.
I thought is was a POS.
A cute alien “Rocky” that he communicates with via software in perfect English … ?
Sci-Fi is SO ■■■■■■■ stupid these days!
It was kind of shown what he did, explained a bit more in the book. Basically attached a sound rocky would make for something and associated it to the word we would use. Took longer in the book to build the language but movie time is precious. Fed that into the ship wide audio system that was also being ised by the ships computer. So after a while itd be pretty quick.
Oh, I really need to see this. I’m a bit of a Gosling fanboy, but I keep forgetting to see this.
Same here. 10 years ago, I would’ve said Gosling’s just another pretty boy actor. Nothing to see here.
Then I saw Blade Runner, Nice guys and Drive. I had no idea what I got myself into when I pushed play on Drive. He’s the only “must see” actor for me now.
I still haven’t watched Hail Mary, cause I keep forgetting, but it’s the first movie I’m looking forward to in a decade.

you don’t think any aliens could know our language, when they are life times of higher intelligence? OR they don’t have things that translate all of American language? I do.
I just love the whole movie theatre experience, both in the case of good writing, as well as special effects movies. I feel SO spoiled, when I’m sitting there and that 3-D, Dolby shit comes on with all the thunderous IMAX shit comes on… Just love it. Saw, “They Will Kill You” last night…it was sorta fun.
Agreed Natty. I don’t get to as many theaters as I used to but there’s 3 or 4 every year that I try to see. Especially need to be in the theater for those with exceptional special effects.
Wolf I was waiting for you to chime in. AI would figure out 90% of that translation pretty quick. Two throat clicks translate to ■■■■ off.
I liked it but wouldn’t consider it “special”.
I may have to overcome my theater boycott and go see this
I am actually pumped
We went to earliest show on a Sunday morning at Phoenix Theater in Grand Rapids. Big reclining seats and only 6 people in the theater (including my wife and I).

They’ve done a lot to lure people back to the theater… Assigned seats? Hell yes! Reclining heated seats with build in trays? Oh yeah! You serve beer now? Sign me up!

Same here. Gosling reminds me of what the cool actors were like, back in the 80’s. Just down-to-earth people that happened to be actors. No agenda, no contrived persona. Humble. Funny.
Maybe the only actor I would pay to see in a movie theater. Plus, his wife is hot af.
