After getting the tying goal you give the high powered Minny PP the chance to win and give yet another hat trick to the opposition. Kane is not supposed to make mistakes like this as a veteran.
If this game went to OT I think the Wings would have the edge with the comeback. Now Philly and Ottawa have a chance to pull away later today.

Draft picks so they can hopefully replace their overrated prospects with actually good ones.
It wasn’t just a mistake. Just an egregiously stupid penalty no matter what. And in the situation they were in during THAT game? In THIS season? Inexcusable.

Yeah man… that’s the thing with the prospects too - I’m all for trading people but what is any team gonna give up for them? Who’s trading us anything for Copp or Compher? What respectable NHL player are we getting for MBN or Mazur or Cossa?
Just sucks because we are really in a position where we have no choice but to maintain the status quo or bring up all these prospects and see if they sink or swim, and if the prospects sink then we are even worse.

But Steve is playing hard ball. And players dont want to go to a garbage team.
Again this team hasnt made the conference finals in 17 years! And shows no hope for making it in the next 2 years. Why would any FA or Trade candidate WANT to come here?

Marco Kasper and ASP were drafted in 2022. It is now 2026 and neither of them is in the lineup consistently…let alone playing well, like they were supposed to. Kasper is supposed to have “1C” potential and plays nothing like a 1C from a productivity standpoint. ASP was supposed to be the next Victor Hedman and can’t crack the 3rd line of defense four years in without an injury.
Nate Danielson is also supposed to have all this potential and has contributed almost nothing at the NHL level.
And beyond those guys, who do we have? Carter Bear? Hasn’t played once in the NHL? Simon Edvinsson was a prized prospect who is now overrated.
This was always the predictable end to this season. The Wings were not nearly good enough to start trading assets for whatever ‘push’ they were trying to make.
It’s why the ‘make trades Steve’ people were wrong before and why the Faulk trade was exceptionally egregious when it happened. They’re not good enough even after the Faulk trade

Since you specifically brought up Victor Hedman in comparison to ASP. Here’s Hedman’s stats with his age included. You tell me when ASP is supposed to be the version of Victor Hedman you’re comparing him to
