Thats my biggest issue right now. Wings are stuck. They HAVE to make a move because none of the kids are living up to the hype.
Edvinsson - 5th year. Turning itno a good middle pair defender
Danielson, in his 3rd season just now dipping his toes into the NHL. With meh success. Middle 6 at best.
Kasper- 4 year, playing on top line out of need. He wouldnt be a top liner on any other cup contenders. Seems like his ceiling is mid 6.
Cosa, Agustine, 5th & 3rd seasons. Havent gotten any action. (Cosa got 1 half ass start last year). They have been streaky in the minors and college. Might be decent who knows.
mauzer - 5th season. Seams like his ceiling is Bottom 6
wallender - 6th!!! Season! If he hasnt been called up by now. Hell never be a full time NHL player. Career 2 way player
Soderblom. - 7th year. Bottom 6.
Plate - year 2. Still too young to tell,
Dimitri - year 4, young talented. Injury set him back this year. Who knows what hell be when he gets state side.
Lombardi - year 4 (been with GR for 2.5 seasons) if he hasnt gotten a call up yet. Career 2 way player,
ASP, and MBN are good. Solid mid lines.
But outside of Raymond and Mo, how many other draft picks would be top liners on a Cup winning team? I think 0.
ASP, MBN, Edvinson, Kasper, are all great 2nd liners.
And every one else seams like a bottom 2 lines

UPDATE: John Gibson (upper body injury) is unlikely to return to today’s game.

Nice road win especially considering the goalie change at the start of the 2nd period. Someone mentioned that the Wings have not had back to back regulation losses since December and that is still intact with a win today.
If Gibby is out for a while, then bring up Cossa. I don’t think you can ask Talbot to play multiple games in a row with his recent limited playing time. Hard decision to make but let’s hope Gibby is back in the next few days.

Also, Appleton and Kasper were plus 2 today and Finny plus 1. Maybe the line changes has created a spark.

Todd McLellan says John Gibson was walking around after the game and didn’t seem to be in any more discomfort. Took a stinger in the first and had a numb shoulder. Should be fine, which is a huge relief.
