Lotteries don’t like Detroit teams. No NBA team had dropped from worst record to sixth, but the Pistons did it 2yrs in a row. At least in this years NHL draft there isn’t a can’t miss generational talent. Hopefully we’ll make the playoffs next year, but 26 is a great year to win the lottery with McKenna being an absolute stud.
it was worst to fifth, but still.
if we had just had slightly better (fourth), but still bad, luck, we would have had Amen Thpmpson and Steven Castle rather than Ausar and Ron Holland. Thats huge.
My bad, I just went on memory which isn’t great I guess. The point still stands that it had never happened and it happened to the Pistons 2 yrs in a row.
Definitely something fishy going on. They claim to use the lottery to prevent tanking… But I think it’s a much bigger tool than that. This goes back a long ways for the nba. Ewing to the Knicks was the first lottery. And that was sketchy as ■■■■.
The only thing worse than 9/11 truthers is the “lotto is rigged!” dudes. Sure, the NBA rigged the lotto to give the bustling media market of San Antonio Wemby… Sometimes, you’re just unlucky.
