Hidden in the article is a little bitty blurb that points out that when Goff beats Da Bears next week, he will be a .500 pct QB for the Lions. After a 3-13 start, that’s a hell of a comeback a years and a half later.

Goff has 19 wins since the trade, Stafford has 18*.
*Stafford also has 4 postseason wins.

Stafford also went to a far superior team. The Lions started from scratch.

Besides the fact Goff has this offense humming and is the perfect player and teammate for this version of the Lions. He’s young, but still veteran and this is his third rebuild
Stafford is currently hurt, should probably be on IR again and if that happens, besides his magical SB run year he will have finished the season on IR 2019, 2022 and this year too. He’s a tough SOB but also old and injury prone. And as Kelly reported on her podcast doesn’t feel like he can relate to the younger players

The debate has been over for awhile. Both teams clearly won. The Rams got over the hump and won a SB. Everything after that is icing on the cake for them.
The Lions got multiple young building blocks and a franchise QB for peanuts.
I personally like how we made out better, but both teams got exactly what they hoped for.

I know it was an article on the two QBs, but you can’t discuss the trade winners without mentioning the picks we got. It’s Stafford for Goff PLUS an assload of great players.

It will be interesting if Goff can win us a playoff game. Then each QB will have done what the other could not do.
